A McDonald’s marketing director discussed the success of their KPop Demon Hunters meals and criticized people who are reselling the collectible cards for profit.
In March 2026, McDonald’s partnered with Netflix to launch two special meals inspired by the KPop group featured in the series. One breakfast meal was designed around the Saja Boys, and a lunch meal highlighted the HUNTR/X members.
The partnership quickly became popular, largely thanks to the collectible cards that came with each meal. These cards had different levels of rarity, making them highly sought after by people who resell collectibles.
I was checking eBay, and it’s crazy! People are selling complete sets of these photocards for about $100. And if you’re after one of the really rare versions, you’re looking at over $200 – seriously! It’s getting expensive to collect them all.

McDonalds exec reveals surprise behind viral Kpop Demon Hunters cards
On April 14th, McDonald’s Senior Marketing Director, Guillaume Huin, playfully acknowledged resellers in a tweet, stating the promotion sold out quicker than expected.
Hey everyone, I’ve been seeing a lot of people saying the meal is already sold out at some restaurants, and yeah, that’s true in a few places! It’s been way more popular than we expected, and honestly, it looks like a ton of the cards are showing up on eBay… which is kinda wild. But don’t worry, there are still plenty of restaurants with meals available until the end of the promotion, so you can still snag that access card for the event if you haven’t already!
Huin mentioned that company leaders were amazed by how rapidly fans figured out the card rarity system. He also revealed his favorite part of the design.
I wanted to share the story behind the Rumi photocard design with the demon patterns. The image of Rumi surrounded by what looks like ‘broken glass’ is actually inspired by the lyric, ‘I broke into a million pieces and I can’t go back, but now I’m seeing all the beauty in the broken glass.’ It’s definitely one of my favorite designs!
Exciting news for KPOP Demon Hunters fans!
On April 26th, those who own the special ‘Derpy’ cards from the Huntr/x and Saja Meals will be the first to see a video revealing the final results of the fan battle. Check out the first sneak peek below – and you won’t believe what’s coming…

Plus, Huin announced that customers who found a Derpy card in their meal will get a special sneak peek video showing who won the ‘battle for the fans.’ This video will also feature a performance by one of the voice actors from the movie.
Limited-edition fast food items are often resold for profit. A recent example is the Popeyes and One Piece collaboration, where exclusive Luffy Bento Boxes caused long lines and were quickly resold online for significantly inflated prices, sometimes hundreds of dollars.
