“Super grandma” goes viral climbing building after locking herself in room

An 89-year-old woman in China became an internet sensation after she climbed down the outside of her apartment building when she accidentally locked herself in a bedroom.

Being locked out of your home, workplace, or vehicle is a frustrating experience. People often attempt risky solutions like climbing through windows, or they have to pay a lot of money to call a locksmith.

An 89-year-old woman in Beijing took a surprising route to freedom when she climbed down the outside of her 27-story building to the 21st floor after accidentally locking herself in a bedroom.

I saw this crazy thing online – apparently, some videos of a woman went viral on Chinese social media. The South China Morning Post said people were watching her climb down a building, and the videos got over 4 million views in just one day! It was wild.

89-year-old climbs down 6 floors

The 89-year-old woman needed help from firefighters to get back on her feet. A security guard and other people living in the building saw her holding onto the side of the building and called for assistance.

Firefighters secured a rope to the woman and helped her back into the building. Once inside, she apparently explained she had intended to climb the entire structure.

According to the South China Morning Post, people on social media are calling her “Super Grandma” because they’re amazed by what she’s accomplished.

This isn’t the only recent neighborhood dispute gaining attention online. On April 5th, a man named Lu was taken to court by a neighbor who claimed he intentionally played loud, disturbing noises through the walls to bother others.

Although the police couldn’t stop him immediately, the court ordered Lu to take down his speakers and agreed he wouldn’t play loud sounds through the walls again.
