Xbox changes Achievements with new looks & full completion highlights

Xbox has redesigned Achievements to be more visually appealing and customizable. Now, you can also showcase the games you’ve finished completely.

I’m so excited! Xbox is testing out some cool new Achievement updates for Insiders like me right now. They’re letting us customize how Achievements look and feel, and the visuals are getting a refresh too. It’s starting with a small group, but they’re planning to roll it out to all Insiders soon, and eventually everyone! I can’t wait for these changes to hit all Xbox consoles.

The idea is to “make it easier to celebrate your accomplishments and curate how they appear on your profile,” as Senior Product Manager Alex Charters put it on the Xbox blog.

These updates bring a fresh look to Achievements, plus more ways to personalize your profile. You can now hide games you’ve played, and earn a special visual badge to show off when you’ve fully completed a game – similar to the Platinum Trophy on PlayStation.

Xbox Achievements get shiny new visuals

Starting now, when you earn rare or classic Achievements, they’ll have a special sparkling effect. Normal challenges will still show the standard visual, but this new effect will make those harder-to-get Achievements stand out.

Now, Xbox Achievements will automatically match the color you’ve chosen for your profile. This gives Xbox Insiders more customization options beyond the standard achievement colors.

Starting today, Xbox Insiders will see games they’ve completed highlighted in their Achievements list. Several users are already showing off completed games on their profiles, with the titles appearing bolded for easy recognition.

I’m really excited about a new feature coming to Xbox in April! It lets you hide games from your Achievement history. Don’t worry, it still counts towards your total Gamerscore, it just won’t show up on your profile for others to see. It’s perfect for situations like when my little brother plays a game and only gets one Achievement – I can keep my profile looking neat and tidy!

We don’t have a firm date yet for when everyone on Xbox will get the new customization features, but we expect to share more details in the next few months.
