Hulu viewers are still loving ! The thrilling series is once again the most-watched show on the platform. Remarkably, has been in the top spot for over 100 days, and that was before the new season even arrived.
The show Paradise is a huge hit! Season 2, which just finished, has already been streamed for over 30 million hours. When the new season launched, viewers also re-watched the first season, adding another 25 million hours of watch time. In total, both seasons of Paradise have been watched for an incredible 12 billion minutes around the world, and the audience continues to grow.
What Is Paradise About?
Three years after a devastating event made the surface world uninhabitable, the last remnants of humanity live in an underground city-bunker. The story, Paradise, centers on Xavier Collins, a Secret Service agent investigating the President’s murder. However, when Xavier becomes a suspect himself, he starts digging deeper and uncovers shocking secrets.
In Season 2 of Paradise, the search for his wife, Teri, leads him to uncover how people have managed to survive outside the protective walls of the bunker city over the last three years. Meanwhile, secrets about the city’s beginnings are revealed, causing problems for those living inside.
Paradise combines the elements of futuristic, often negative, science fiction with the exciting twists of a conspiracy thriller, and this combination has worked well. The first season of Paradise received high praise, earning an 86% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and was also nominated for four Emmy Awards, including a nomination for the prestigious Outstanding Drama Series award.
Paradise May Be Heading Towards Its End Game
Dan Fogelman, the creator of popular shows like Only Murders in the Building and This Is Us, is also behind Paradise. The new series stars Sterling K. Brown – known for his role in This Is Us – as Agent Xavier Collins.
Along with James Marsden, actress Brown is one of three stars from the show Paradise who received an Emmy nomination for their work in the first season. The cast of Paradise also includes Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, Charlie Evans, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers.
Hulu hasn’t said definitively what the future holds for Paradise after its current third season, but many believe this season will be the last. This is largely because the show’s main mysteries are being resolved and storylines are coming together. However, the creator, Fogelman, might have more stories to tell. Regardless, now is a great time to watch Paradise, which currently has two seasons, each with eight episodes.
Paradise is streaming now on Hulu.
