Starfield: How to start the Terran Armada DLC quest

Starfield is now available on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro after originally launching in 2023 for Xbox Series and PC. A new story expansion called Terran Armada is also out now for all platforms. If you have the Premium Edition of the game, the expansion is already included. Otherwise, it costs $9.99. This guide will explain how to begin the Terran Armada quest and when you’ll be able to start it within the game.

When can you unlock the Terran Armada DLC in Starfield

  • Once you’ve reached Akila City as a part of the main story quest, you should be able to listen to the broadcast from the SSNN at the terminal shown below.
  • If you don’t have this available, it should appear after completing the optional quest where you deal with the hostage situation as soon as you reach Akila City.
  • I had it appear immediately after finishing this quest on two different save files to verify. 
  • Once that is complete, you will be notified of an announcement nearby from the SSNN which has a lot of lore and information.
  • After listening to the full SSNN broadcast, you will get the Attack of the Terran Armada mission where you have to join the search party orbiting Nirvana I.
  • Note that this is a level 50+ recommended level mission.
