Jason Statham remains a leading figure in action films, consistently delivering straightforward, action-packed thrillers. His latest movie is aiming for success on streaming platforms despite mixed reviews from critics. Statham has become a major movie star by sticking to classic action formulas, a rare feat in today’s film industry where star power isn’t what it used to be. With a Jason Statham film, audiences always know exactly what to expect: thrilling, no-frills action.
It’s no surprise this new Jason Statham film is doing so well. He plays a man with a hidden, dangerous past who’s forced to use his special skills when a girl goes missing. The movie borrows elements from action hits like Taken and John Wick, and with Statham leading the way, it’s become another big success for the star. The Beekeeper has now been in the US top 10 for an impressive 219 days.
Human Traffickers Beware…
This action thriller brings Jason Statham back together with director David Ayer (known for The Beekeeper). Interestingly, the script was co-written by Sylvester Stallone, a star of The Expendables and a legend in the action genre. The film is based on Chuck Dixon’s 2014 novel, “Levon’s Trade,” and features a strong supporting cast including David Harbour (from Stranger Things and Thunderbolts), Michael Peña (End of Watch), Jason Flemyng (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Arianna Rivas (The Black Phone 2), Noemi Gonzalez (Selena: The Series), and Emmett J. Scanlan (Peaky Blinders, Kin), alongside Statham. It was released in March of last year.
In A Working Man, Jason Statham plays Levon Cade, a former black ops soldier who’s traded a life of danger for a quiet job in construction. When the daughter of his boss—a girl he considers family—is kidnapped by human traffickers, Levon is drawn into a dangerous search to rescue her. This search reveals a much larger web of corruption than he anticipated. The film positions Statham as a relentless figure reminiscent of Baba Yaga and is currently available alongside other action and adventure titles like the Robin Hood reboot, Dwayne Johnson’s Hercules, the conclusion of the Mission: Impossible series, the mystery series From, and Chris Pratt’s action film Mercy.
‘A Working Man’ Is the Ideal Bang-Bang Shoot’ Em up That Pairs Perfectly With Popcorn

It’s no surprise that audiences loved the new action movie starring Jason Statham – it’s a fast-paced thriller in the style of Taken and John Wick, earning an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics were more divided, giving it a 47% rating. Overall, the film delivers exactly what you’d expect – non-stop action that’s perfect with a bucket of popcorn. Now, everyone’s wondering when the next one will be released!
