XO, Kitty Dominates Netflix Worldwide After Season 3 Debut

Teen romantic comedies are becoming increasingly popular on streaming services, especially following the success of . This explains why Netflix’s XO, Kitty – a show based on a character created by Jenny Han, the author of The Summer I Turned Pretty – is currently a global hit, topping streaming charts after the release of its third season.

I’m so excited to share that XO, Kitty is absolutely crushing it on Netflix! According to FlixPatrol, it’s officially the most-watched show globally right now. It’s number one in so many places – Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, the UK, and even here in the United States! It’s amazing to see how quickly it’s become a hit, taking the top spot just one day after its return. I knew everyone would love it!

XO, Kitty Is a Sequel and Spin-Off of a Popular Film Series

I’m so excited about this new show because it follows Katherine, or Kitty, Song-Covey, the youngest of the sisters. If you’re familiar with the To All the Boys movies – and I totally was! – you’ll know that this is a sequel and spin-off. Those films starred Lana Condor as Lara Jean, Kitty’s older sister, and it’s great to see the story continue with a new generation of the Covey family.

The story follows Lara Jean Covey, a high school student, as she deals with the unexpected fallout when her younger sister, Kitty, secretly mails the private love letters she wrote to her crushes. Lara Jean never intended for anyone to read these letters, and now she’s forced to confront her feelings and navigate a complicated new situation.

XO, Kitty centers around Kitty as she navigates high school in South Korea, attending the same school her mother went to. The series introduces new characters like Yuri Han, played by Gia Kim, and Min-ho Moon, played by Sang Heon Lee, alongside Dae-heon Kim (Choi Min-yeong) and Quincy Shabazian (Anthony Keyvan), expanding the world of the franchise.

XO, Kitty premiered on May 18, 2023, and its second season arrived on January 16, 2025. Since then, the show has become a big hit on streaming platforms. It’s a fun mix of growing up, romance, and humor, making it a great choice for anyone who enjoys romantic comedies or shows about high school life.

XO, Kitty Also Won Over Critics

Many shows struggle to impress both critics and audiences, but Netflix’s XO, Kitty has managed to do just that. Critics generally liked the series, giving it a 78% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the first season was even ‘Certified Fresh’ with an 82% score.

As a big fan of XO, Kitty, I’ve been following the critical reception, and it’s generally been really good! Season 2 scored an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is fantastic. Even though Season 3 got slightly less positive reviews, at 71%, it’s still a thumbs-up from critics. Plus, over on IMDb, the show has a 6.6 rating from a whopping 23,000 people – that’s a pretty solid indication that a lot of us are enjoying it!

While XO, Kitty hasn’t been officially renewed for a fourth season, many viewers are eager for its return, particularly after the way Season 3 ended. The show’s popularity on streaming suggests there’s strong public interest in continuing the story.

XO, Kitty is available to stream on Netflix worldwide.
