Former MCU Star Jonathan Majors Falls Through A Window on Movie Set, Crew Is Now on Strike

The new film starring the actor recently let go from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is facing serious problems. During filming, several actors were injured when they fell through a window, and the crew had previously raised concerns about safety on set.

On April 2nd, reports surfaced of work stopping on Jeremy Allen White’s action movie, a project from The Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, after the film crew went on strike late last week due to disagreements over working conditions. The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) initiated the strike. The following day, news emerged that a main actor had fallen through a window on set, resulting in a significant incident.

Jonathan Majors’ Accident on Set Ignited a Strike

According to reports, the issues arose as the union tried to finalize a contract ensuring contributions to its health and retirement funds. Throughout the last five weeks of filming, the union also voiced concerns about safety on set. Producers haven’t disputed the claims, but they publicly stated they refuse to negotiate with anyone they identify as a communist.

The film crew is currently striking. The strike gained momentum last week after Majors and his co-star, JC Kilcoyne, were accidentally injured when they fell through a window while filming a scene.

From what I understand, the whole thing happened because they used a piece of safety glass as a temporary window. It was supposed to be broken later in a stunt without anyone near it – definitely not Jonathan and his co-star. But it wasn’t fixed properly, and when they were filming the scene, both actors and the glass just gave way and fell about six feet. It was a really scary accident, and thankfully they weren’t seriously hurt, but it all came down to that glass not being secured like it should have been.

After the accident, JC Kilcoyne needed stitches on both hands. According to his representatives, he’s recovering well and received immediate medical attention from the production team. They also confirmed that Kilcoyne felt safe on set and is enjoying his work on the project.

A crew member, who wished to remain unnamed, shared with Deadline that they weren’t told about anyone falling from the window when they arrived, and found that strange.

The incident finally led to a work stoppage, with crew members leaving the set. Several people confirmed this wasn’t an isolated event, and that other safety issues had occurred during filming of the unnamed action movie, such as props falling and nearly hitting the crew.

The Action Movie Continues Production Despite Concerns

The filmmakers stated that no meetings occurred with department heads or director Kyle Rankin prior to filming the challenging stunts. Furthermore, they lacked a unit production manager and didn’t even have a crew list. As they put it, “There was simply no way to find or identify anyone working on the project.”

I’ve been following the updates, and it sounds like filming hasn’t completely stopped, though it’s still happening in some form. I was shocked to read that producer Dallas Sonnier actually dismissed the protest as unfair. He basically said they were too focused on the action – blowing things up, helicopter chases, and filming action scenes – to pay attention to the protesters, who he didn’t seem to respect at all.
