Recent reports about William Shatner‘s health have been untrue. The actor himself has confirmed he’s doing well, saying he feels great despite false rumors circulating online that he’s been diagnosed with cancer.
The 95-year-old actor recently shared a photo online to address rumors about his health. He explained that his granddaughter heard reports he had brain cancer, prompting his daughter to take the picture and ask him to post it as proof he’s doing well. He stated that those spreading the false stories are the ones who are truly unwell, and assured everyone he’s in good health and there’s no need to worry.
William Shatner Says Don’t Believe the Rumors
William Shatner recently expressed his distress over false stories circulating on social media. He specifically mentioned seeing fabricated reports, including one falsely claiming he had stage four brain cancer and another alleging a dispute with the widow of Charlie Kirk. These posts often used images of Shatner, such as a picture of him supposedly in a hospital bed. While some of these untrue stories have been taken down, Shatner was understandably upset by them.
I’ve noticed some untrue stories circulating online, but people are sharing them and sending supportive messages to my family and me. Unfortunately, whoever is creating these fake accounts is profiting from them. This highlights a problem with AI and sensationalized reporting – while these technologies can be great when used responsibly, they can also be misused. If you come across a strange story about me, please be skeptical unless you see it confirmed on one of my official social media accounts.
William Shatner Is Going on Tour
William Shatner is still actively performing for his fans. He recently announced a series of live appearances where he’ll take the stage after showings of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. During these events, the iconic actor will share stories from behind the scenes of the film and reflect on his impressive career, and he’ll also answer questions from the audience. Fans will even have the chance to get their picture taken with Shatner, as he continues to make appearances at fan conventions as well.
2026 will be a special year for William Shatner, marking 60 years since he first played Captain Kirk. The original Star Trek episode, “The Man Trap,” aired on September 6, 1966, launching a hugely successful and continuing entertainment franchise. Today, a new version of Captain Kirk appears in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, portrayed by Paul Wesley.
