In a unique episode of Doctor Who aired in 2025, titled “Lux,” the Doctor and their companion directly addressed the viewers. This broke the traditional boundary between the show and the audience, effectively making the fans a part of the story and allowing them to influence what happened.
Shows that aren’t afraid to break the mold, like Doctor Who and Legends of Tomorrow, have a unique way of connecting with viewers. They create immersive experiences that make the audience feel truly involved in the story.
Though it didn’t immediately become a hit when it premiered in 2016, Legends of Tomorrow ultimately became a standout show within the Arrowverse – and one of the best superhero series ever – thanks to its willingness to constantly reinvent itself and take chances.
