Your Friends and Neighbors are still getting along with critics.
The Apple TV series Your Friends and Neighbors premiered in April 2025 and stars Jon Hamm as Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a former financier who starts robbing his wealthy neighbors. The first season featured a strong cast including Amanda Peet, Hoon Lee, Olivia Munn, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, and Mark Tallman, and received an Emmy nomination for its theme music. Season 2, with James Marsden joining the cast, began streaming on Apple TV on April 3rd.
With the premiere of the new season, Rotten Tomatoes has collected enough reviews to calculate an official Tomatometer score. Currently, season 2 of Your Friends and Neighbors has a “Fresh” rating of 70%, based on 10 critic reviews. This score may change as more reviews come in.
Reviews for season 2 of Your Friends and Neighbors are generally positive. Although there are three negative reviews, even the lowest-scoring one—a 5 out of 10 from ScreenRant’s Greg MacArthur—isn’t a complete failure. While many reviews are fairly moderate, with scores like 3/5 and 7/10, the season has also received some very positive ratings, including an A- and an 8 out of 10.
The second season of the show has a similar Rotten Tomatoes score to its first, which was rated ‘Certified Fresh’ with 79% positive reviews from 61 critics. This gives the show an overall average of 74% on the Tomatometer, showing continued success for Jon Hamm’s project.
Despite appearing in many different TV shows over the years, Jon Hamm hasn’t been in a single one that received a negative review on Rotten Tomatoes since he started acting in 2000. That year, he was in an episode of the sitcom The Trouble with Normal, which is one of the very few shows to ever receive a 0% rating on the site.
Despite a slow start to his career, Jon Hamm has consistently appeared in critically acclaimed and popular shows. While he’s perhaps best known for his role in Mad Men (94%), he’s also been part of many other well-received series over the past 25 years, including Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (96%), 30 Rock (78%), Todd Margaret (72%), Angie Tribeca (96%), Parks and Recreation (93%), Fargo (93%), Good Omens (86%), Landman (80%), and The Morning Show (69%).
Whether the positive reviews for season 2 of Your Friends and Neighbors will lead to high viewership is still unknown. Even with a small decrease in ratings compared to season 1, strong numbers would likely explain why Apple TV+ already renewed the show for a third season. The renewal was announced back in February, a full two months before season 2 even premiered.
Your Friends and Neighbors season 2 airs on Apple TV on Fridays through June 5.
