What Disney+ Star Wars TV show has been renewed for Season 2?

Lucasfilm Animation is making another season of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. The announcement came from Dave Filoni, the series creator and executive producer, who recently became co-president and chief creative officer at Lucasfilm following Kathleen Kennedy’s departure from that position.

Just days before the new Star Wars series, Maul – Shadow Lord, begins streaming on Disney+, an announcement about its renewal has been made. The series tells the story of Maul, a powerful Sith Lord, as he seeks revenge following the events of the Clone Wars.

Following the events of The Clone Wars, Maul is scheming to restore his criminal organization on a planet the Empire hasn’t reached. There, he meets a discouraged young Jedi learner, who might be the apprentice he’s been looking for to help him continue his quest for revenge.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord features a voice cast including Sam Witwer as Maul, Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, Richard Ayoade as Two-Boots, Dennis Haysbert as Master Eeko-Dio Daki, Chris Diamantopoulos as Looti Vario, Charlie Bushnell as Rylee Lawson, Vanessa Marshall as Rook Kast, David W. Collins as Spybot, A.J. LoCascio as Marrok, and Steve Blum as Icarus.

Dave Filoni created the Star Wars animated series, Maul – Shadow Lord, using characters originally developed by George Lucas. He worked with Matt Michnovetz to develop the series. Along with Michnovetz, the executive producers are Dave Filoni, Athena Yvette Portillo, Brad Rau, Carrie Beck, and Josh Rimes. Alex Spotswood served as a co-executive producer.

Besides his involvement with the Star Wars comic Maul – Shadow Lord, Dave Filoni is also a writer and producer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, scheduled to be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.

The first season of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord arrives on Disney+ with two episodes dropping at midnight Pacific Time on April 6, 2026.
