A villain from the Spider-Man: Brand New Day storyline is set to reappear in another Marvel Cinematic Universe film later this year, continuing his connection with Peter Parker. The MCU’s Spider-Man movies have already featured many of the character’s most popular foes from the Marvel comics.
Villains like Vulture, Mysterio, Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Electro, Sandman, and the Lizard – many appearing thanks to the multiverse storyline in Spider-Man: No Way Home – have already impacted Spider-Man’s story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But there are still plenty of comic book enemies yet to be introduced, and the story of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is setting up the arrival of one of them, who will reappear in 2026.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Will Feature Multiple Marvel Villains
The initial trailer for the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie showed a variety of villains will appear, from significant enemies to quick cameos. It gave fans their first glimpse of Michael Mando reprising his role as Mac Gargan, now as the Scorpion in a high-tech suit, alongside other villains like Tarantula, Boomerang, and members of the Hand ninja clan.
Sadie Sink’s character, believed to be Jean Grey from the X-Men, has only been glimpsed from behind or in shadow, suggesting she’ll be a villain of some kind. Although reports say Marvin Jones III is playing Tombstone in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he wasn’t featured in the trailer. One of these characters will reappear in another Marvel movie coming out in 2026.
Scorpion Will Also Appear In Another 2026 Marvel Release
The new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, arrives in theaters on July 31st. Later, in fall 2026, season 2 of the animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be available on Disney+. This series is set in a universe connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but with a twist: Norman Osborn, instead of Iron Man, guides Spider-Man. However, major events like the superhero Civil War still happened in a similar way.
Scorpion, a significant character in the first season of the Spider-Man animated series, will be back for season 2, titled Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The news was announced in October 2025 with a new trailer shown at New York Comic Con. The trailer featured glimpses of several characters in action, including Gwen Stacy, Venom, Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox), Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, and Scorpion.
With the recent trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day showing Scorpion in his classic comic book outfit, fans of the character in the MCU films should definitely check out the animated Spider-Man series. Season one features a version of Scorpion based on the actor who plays him in the movies, and he even sports the comic-accurate suit while posing a serious threat to Spider-Man. This makes the second season a great continuation of the story begun in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
