McDonald’s announces Hello Kitty collab but it’s super limited

McDonald’s Japan is partnering with Hello Kitty again, but this time, the collaboration features special edition drinks instead of the typical Happy Meal toys.

I’m so excited! McDonald’s Japan is partnering with Hello Kitty and Pompompurin for a super cute McCafé collection! It’s coming out on April 10, 2026, but it’s only for a limited time, so I’m definitely marking my calendar!

The collaboration features two new drinks: the Hello Kitty Juicy Strawberry Smoothie and the Pompompurin Creamy Pudding Frappe. You can enjoy both of these limited-time offerings at select locations until mid-May.

Hello Kitty collab comes with themed drinks

The strawberry smoothie is a perfect blend of sweet and tart flavors, and has a smooth, creamy texture like strawberry gelato. The pudding frappe, on the other hand, tastes exactly like drinking pudding – it’s made with a creamy custard base, caramel, and whipped cream.

At McCafe, smoothies start at ¥450 (about $2.80) and frappes at ¥490 (around $3). You can also add either drink to a value meal for an additional ¥200 ($1.25).

To celebrate this partnership, the special drinks will be served in collectible cups decorated with Hello Kitty and Pompompurin enjoying them.

Starting in early April, the Hello Kitty collaboration will be available at over 2,500 McDonald’s restaurants across Japan, offering a sweet option for anyone looking for a special treat.

Starting March 31st, McDonald’s is partnering with KPOP Demon Hunters for a special “Battle for the Fans” promotion in the US. They’re offering two themed meals – one for breakfast and another for all other times of the day.
