The MCU Officially Confirms A Major Marvel Legacy Character Is Joining The Multiverse Saga

Okay, huge spoiler warning for anyone watching Daredevil: Born Again – specifically episode 3 of season 2! It looks like the MCU is adding another classic hero to the mix as the Multiverse Saga barrels toward its conclusion. Honestly, this whole Multiverse Saga has been a bit divisive. A lot of fans are comparing it to the Infinity Saga, and it’s just… not landing the same way. We’re seeing box office numbers that are a tiny fraction of what the Infinity Saga pulled in, and it’s a little worrying.

Fans are getting excited for upcoming movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, which are predicted to be big hits and could help revitalize the Marvel Studios universe as they begin a new storyline. And just before the multiverse storyline wraps up, a new hero joins the battle against villainy in season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Just Confirmed Angela del Toro Is The New White Tiger

Camila Rodriguez officially joins the Marvel universe as Angela del Toro, the White Tiger, in the third episode of Daredevil: Born Again. While her connection to the character was suggested earlier when she met with Matt Murdock’s partner, Kirsten McDuffie, and collected items from her uncle, this episode marks her active involvement in opposing Mayor Fisk and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force.

Although she doesn’t have the full White Tiger costume yet, she’s wearing white tiger-patterned clothes and the amulet that gave her uncle, Hector Ayala, his superpowers. She hasn’t shown off these powers much, but she’s already proving to be a valuable hero, helping Daredevil and Karen Page rescue prisoners from Red Hook and get them to safety.

Angela Was Expected To Pick Up Her Uncle’s Legacy After His Death

Throughout the first season, many fans believed Angela would become the White Tiger, especially after Hector’s violent death. Now, fueled by her uncle’s murder and a firsthand experience with the AVTF’s harsh methods while with her aunt, Angela is determined to fight for justice and take on the role of a vigilante.

She’s very young and, although she’s trying to help Daredevil, she doesn’t understand the challenges of being a vigilante. She also doesn’t realize Daredevil is the lawyer who helped her uncle, and she seems to have made the decision to wear the amulet without much thought.

Even so, Angela seems intelligent and skilled, and we’ve already learned about her background over the course of two seasons of Daredevil: Born Again.

The White Tiger Has A Bright Future Among The MCU’s Street Level Heroes

Okay, so the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at a bit of a turning point right now. With Avengers: Doomsday looming, it feels like they’re gently hitting the reset button on everything. But what’s really exciting me is the focus on those street-level heroes like Daredevil. Daredevil: Born Again isn’t just a one-off; it looks like Marvel is finally embracing longer, multi-season stories for individual characters, which is a fantastic direction, in my opinion.

This season of Daredevil: Born Again will bring back several characters from past shows, giving them a chance to further develop their storylines. Plus, other series like Wonder Man have recently been renewed for another season, promising more content for fans.

Even as the big Multiverse storyline seems to be building towards a grand conclusion, there’s still room for smaller, more personal stories – like those focusing on everyday heroes or the new team, the Young Avengers. These could be perfect opportunities to develop Angela’s character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We can likely expect to see Angela del Toro appear frequently in future Marvel Cinematic Universe projects, starting with Daredevil: Born Again.
