This adaptation of Stephen King’s work, directed by Frank Darabont, is a truly timeless and beloved classic.

As a huge movie buff, I’m always checking those ‘greatest films’ lists, and The Godfather consistently lands right near the top – it’s usually number two! It has an incredible 9.2 rating based on over 2.2 million votes. Just behind it is Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight with 9.1. The Godfather, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, kicks off a fantastic trilogy that really dives into the story of the Corleone family. It’s based on Mario Puzo’s novel, and he even co-wrote the screenplay, which is one reason why so many people consider it one of the most important and influential films ever made.

Francis Ford Coppola wasn’t initially enthusiastic about directing the third Godfather film. The story became unnecessarily complex, casting his daughter, Sofia, in a role also drew criticism, and it was clear Coppola wasn’t fully invested.
