Despite all the fake announcements and jokes aimed at gamers, we’re potentially seeing a real announcement with Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. That’s what Hooded Horse is claiming, at least!

More Classic Empire Building and Turn-Based Strategy

Okay, gamers, huge news! They just released a new trailer for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, and honestly, I’m super hyped. This is the next installment in a series that everyone already knows and loves, and it looks amazing so far.

I just watched some gameplay footage, and it looks amazing! You really get a sense of how you’ll be able to build up a huge, thriving empire through really thoughtful strategy. And the battles! They’re turn-based, so you can take your time, and there are so many different creatures you can command – dragons are definitely my favorite part!

The biggest news in the video was the announcement of when you can finally play the game! The first playable version will be released on April 30, 2026, and it will be available initially on PC through Steam Early Access and the Microsoft Store (as part of the Game Preview program).

Great news for Game Pass subscribers: this game will be available on PC Game Pass the moment it’s released, letting you play it right away! You can watch the official trailer below.

Everything appears to be in order. It’s also worth remembering that this is the first new Heroes of Might and Magic game in more than a decade, so it’s hard to believe Hooded Horse would risk disappointing fans with something this important… would they?
