The upcoming fifth season of Prime Video’s ‘The Boys’ has the cast worried they won’t be able to finish the story in just one final episode.
Since the show began in 2019, Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Hugh Campbell (Jack Quaid) have been on a lengthy and challenging journey to defeat Homelander (Antony Starr) and the other members of the Seven.
The fourth season concluded in 2024 with several characters being kidnapped and held captive by Vought International after Homelander declared martial law and the use of superheroes to enforce it.
Season 5 of The Boys needs to resolve several key plot points, including rescuing Hughie, MM, Kimiko, and Frenchie from prison and ultimately defeating Homelander. However, the actors were worried the season wouldn’t be able to provide a satisfying conclusion to the series.
Karen Fukuhara questioned how The Boys Season 5 finale would “find the time”
Recent trailers for The Boys Season 5 have created a lot of excitement, but some cast members are anxious about how the show will wrap up everything in the final episode. Both Karen Fukuhara and Erin Moriarty described the finale as “insane,” and Fukuhara, who plays Kimiko, shared her worries about fitting it all in during an interview with Collider.
She recalled being amazed while reading the script, wondering how the writers would fit everything into a single episode. They managed to do it, though! Moriarty also shared that the finale is the episode she’s most eager for fans to watch, but she wouldn’t say if it was extended, not wanting to give away any spoilers.
The show ‘The Boys’ is known for its intense and realistic portrayal of events, and it seems the final season will be no different. Jack Quaid, who plays Hughie, has stated that the ending will be true to the show’s nature – meaning not everyone will necessarily survive, and things won’t be tied up neatly.

The show ‘The Boys’ won’t have a happy ending, according to creator Eric Kripke. Speaking with Jimmy Fallon, he confirmed this is the last season, and warned that several characters will die in shocking ways. He didn’t reveal who those characters are, but promised it will be intense.
Many popular shows, including Game of Thrones and Stranger Things, have struggled with wrapping things up. Luckily, the creator of The Boys, Eric Kripke, has assured fans the show will maintain its violent and shocking style, and that important characters won’t survive to the end. Viewers will simply have to wait and see how the story concludes on Prime Video.
Season 5 of The Boys arrives on Prime Video on April 8, 2026. While you wait, you can explore the backstory of Homelander, learn about the upcoming series Vought Rising, and find out what’s in store for Season 3 of Gen V.
