This indie game lets you roleplay as Jesus Christ & perform biblical miracles

Okay, so I just heard about this new game coming to Steam and it’s WILD! You actually play as Jesus! Like, you get to experience the stories from the Bible firsthand, walk around ancient Israel, and even perform miracles. It sounds absolutely crazy, but I’m kind of fascinated and have to check it out.

The game I Am Jesus Christ will be released on April 2nd, following a demo released in July 2025. It’s an interactive story based on the Gospels, allowing players to experience the life and teachings of Jesus in a new way.

This allows you to follow his life story, from his beginnings to his resurrection, and participate in important moments like meeting his followers and being present at the Last Supper.

I Am Jesus Christ hits Steam on April 2

In case you’re thinking this is all just an April Fool’s joke, the official Steam page has a trailer and plenty of screenshots showing the game in action. From these, we can see sections where you do everything from casting out demons to visiting crucial locations, such as Jerusalem and Galilee, all of which have been faithfully recreated.

Throughout the story, you’ll perform over 30 incredible feats, like miraculously feeding a crowd of 5,000 with only a few loaves of bread and fish, walking on water, and bringing people back to life.

Despite its unusual premise, I Am Jesus Christ isn’t meant to be taken lightly. The game’s developer, Space Boat Studios, has stated their intention to create a sincere and reverent portrayal of biblical stories.

Discover the core beliefs of Christianity by exploring the life and teachings of Jesus. This resource helps you understand the principles, values, and historical events that impact people worldwide.

2026 is shaping up to be an incredible year for games, with a wildly diverse lineup. We’re seeing everything from simple browser games that creatively use Wikipedia, to more involved puzzle games where you control raccoons searching for trash.
