A modder has brilliantly combined the worlds of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring, merging the realistic Wild West setting of Rockstar’s game with the challenging fantasy gameplay of Elden Ring.
People have been modifying Red Dead Redemption 2 for a long time, always finding creative ways to change the game – whether it’s adding funny features, turning it into a Pokémon game, or including extra duels and quests. But sometimes, a mod appears that really showcases the incredible lengths players will go to in order to transform the game.
This new mod dramatically changes Red Dead Redemption 2, making its combat feel much faster and more action-packed like Elden Ring. Expect larger weapons, a completely reworked fighting system, and challenging boss encounters.
Red Dead Redemption 2 modder makes Uncle an Elden Ring boss
A talented modder named Blurbs has managed to recreate Elden Ring as a mod within the game Red Dead Redemption 2, as demonstrated in a YouTube video.
Players around the globe are now seeing characters use impressively large swords that feel more suited to games like Elden Ring than a Western setting. The fighting system has also been revamped, now featuring moves inspired by Elden Ring, such as powerful, sweeping attacks and the ability to parry blows.
Blurbs has also designed unique spells to capture the feel of Elden Ring’s combat, featuring effects like lingering damage similar to Scarlet Rot and powerful knockback abilities.
The game also received significant visual updates. For instance, the creator redesigned the Erdtree – one of the game’s biggest trees – painting it bright yellow. This gave players a recognizable point of reference without requiring the creation of entirely new scenery.
I was blown away when he added interactive features! He actually linked the game directly to Twitch, which is so cool. Now, summon signs pop up in the game, and what people type in my Twitch chat are voiced by the characters! It makes the whole experience totally unpredictable and hilarious – it’s a blast!
The creator described the mod as a massive undertaking, saying it involved a huge amount of work. He jokingly added that he even recreated the final boss fight from Elden Ring, but replaced the original opponent with his uncle.
The mod isn’t available for download yet, but the creator, Blurbs, is considering releasing it. If it does come out, it has the potential to be one of the most impressive Red Dead Redemption 2 mods ever made.
