Seven stolen dogs go viral after escaping and making 17km journey home

A heartwarming story is spreading online about seven dogs who were stolen from a village in northeastern China. The clever pups managed to escape and find their way back home all by themselves!

The group reportedly traveled about 10.5 miles, moving through both crowded streets and open countryside before they were happily reunited with their owners a few days later.

I was so impressed when I saw these videos of a dog squad marching in formation! Someone filmed them walking along the highway on March 16th, and it immediately went viral. Everyone online was commenting on how perfectly in sync they were – it was amazing to watch!

Dogs team up to escape thieves

A small Corgi took the lead as a group of dogs walked together, constantly looking back to make sure the others were keeping up. The group gathered around an injured German shepherd, and other breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and a Pekingese stayed close by.

Additional video showed the dogs continuing across the fields, staying close to each other and refusing help from people trying to lead them to safety.

Rescuers discovered that the seven lost dogs all came from the same village and were a close-knit group who often wandered together. Volunteers followed their journey, and thankfully, all seven were back with their families by March 19th.

In January 2026, a heartwarming reunion occurred when a dog and its owner were reunited after a decade apart. This followed another incredible story of a family finding their dog eight years after losing it during a hurricane.
