A Quiet Place III Finally Gets Major Casting Update 5 Years Later

After five years of waiting, a third Quiet Place movie is officially in the works. Production on the fourth film has just begun.

John Krasinski, who directed and starred in the A Quiet Place films, shared a photo of the script and announced the cast for the third movie. Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe will return, and Jack O’Connell (known for Sinners), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), and Katy O’Brian (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning) are joining the cast.

A Quiet Place III Scored a New Release Date

John Krasinski expressed his excitement about working with the cast and crew of the A Quiet Place films, both returning and new. He also announced that A Quiet Place Part III is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 30, 2027.

We learned over the weekend that Millicent Simmonds, at the SXSW festival, hinted at the possibility of a third installment in the horror series. While she couldn’t share any concrete details, she expressed her hope to revisit the Abbott family and see what happens after the events of the second film. She also acknowledged the potential for new characters, but ultimately, she just wants a positive outcome for everyone, hoping for a safe and happy ending. She playfully asked fans to ‘pray for her’ regarding the future of the story.

With Blunt and Jupe returning, we can expect the Abbott family to remain central to the story.

John Krasinski became famous for playing Jim on The Office. Since the show ended, he’s moved on to more serious work, including directing and starring in A Quiet Place and taking on the role of Jack Ryan. He directed both A Quiet Place films, which came out in 2018 and 2021. He wrote the first movie with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and he wrote the second one by himself.

The movie A Quiet Place tells the story of the Abbott family as they struggle to survive after an alien invasion. The creatures hunting them are incredibly sensitive to sound, forcing the family to live in silence.

Following the death of Lee (John Krasinski) during an alien attack in the first movie, Emily Blunt’s character, Evelyn, and their children, Regan and Marcus, were forced to leave their home and search for other people who had survived. In the 2021 film, they encountered both Cillian Murphy’s Emmett and Djimon Hounsou’s character, known as Henri or The Man on the Island.

A third film in the series was announced in May 2021, with John Krasinski stating he had a plan for it to be the last one. Originally slated for release in 2025, production never began. The release date was then moved to July 9, 2027, and has now been updated again to July 30, 2027.

A Quiet Place Is a Successful Franchise

In 2024, the A Quiet Place series continued with the release of Day One. John Krasinski worked with Michael Sarnoski to develop the story for this new installment, which Sarnoski also directed.

A Quiet Place III premieres on July 30, 2027.
