Pokémon TCG Chaos Rising Expansion Finally Features Mega Floette

The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion arrives in May, and it includes a long-awaited event that fans have been anticipating for over ten years.

The new Chaos Rising expansion will be available globally on May 22nd. Players can participate in prerelease events from May 9th to May 17th, and the expansion will also become available on the Pokémon TCG Live platform on May 21st.

The Chaos Rising expansion will add over 120 cards to the game, with more than 20 being Trainer cards and over 35 featuring unique artwork.

The official Pokémon website recently revealed some of the upcoming cards, including powerful Mega EX versions of Pyroar, Greninja, Dragalge, and Floette. What’s particularly exciting is the inclusion of Floette, which resolves a storyline question that fans have been wondering about for thirteen years.

Pokémon X and Y, released in 2013, featured a story considered by many to be one of the most memorable and emotionally impactful in the entire Pokémon series.

While the story of AZ and his search for Floette was touching, it didn’t quite manage to make the main storyline very engaging. However, their connection was a strong and worthwhile part of the game.

Even though the ending of Pokémon X and Y featured a heartwarming reunion, one Pokémon hasn’t received a Mega Evolution in over ten years: Floette.

Things changed subtly last year with the release of Mega Floette in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This makes sense, as the game, much like Pokémon X and Y, is set in the Kalos region. However, it’s easy to overlook, because you can only get it after finishing the main story.
