Okay, so I just finished watching Project Hail Mary, and it’s a long one! Seriously, it’s a big movie. If you’re like me and need a bathroom break, let me tell you the perfect moment so you don’t miss anything important.

Project Hail Mary is a large-scale film tackling ambitious themes, brought to life by directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller with a substantial budget and starring Ryan Gosling.

We gave the movie a perfect 5-star rating, and in our review of Project Hail Mary, we praised its ability to blend science fiction, action, adventure, comedy, tragedy, and intense drama into a story about courage, friendship, and the human drive to live.

Project Hail Mary has a lot happening in it, making it a bit longer than most movies. We suggest watching the whole thing, but if you need to step out for a moment, here’s a good point to do so…

Take your Project Hail Mary bathroom break during the karaoke

Okay, so Project Hail Mary is a pretty long movie – it runs for 2 hours and 36 minutes! Seriously, plan ahead for bathroom breaks. If you have to go, your best bet is during the karaoke scene – it’s long enough that you won’t miss much!

About halfway through the movie, Dr. Ryland Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, and Eva Stratt, played by Sandra Hüller, are on a boat in the ocean, working together to figure out how to save humanity.

The episode opens with a group of intoxicated people singing the Scorpions’ song ‘Winds of Change.’ Then, Grace and Stratt have a conversation on the ship’s deck. Their discussion develops their relationship, but it doesn’t offer any new insights into who they are as characters.

The scene then shifts back to the bar with a surprising turn: Stratt unexpectedly grabs the microphone and beautifully sings Harry Styles’ ‘Sign of the Times’. While this reveals a new side to his character, it doesn’t actually impact the plot or move the story forward.

Be sure to return to your seat before Stratt finishes singing – that’s when the main part of the story begins.
