Those hoping for a new season of Young Justice might be disappointed. Voice actor Zeno Robinson recently indicated that there are currently no plans for a fifth season of the animated DC series.
Young Justice Season 5 isn’t happening anytime soon
Unfortunately, there’s no news about a fifth season of Young Justice anytime soon. Zeno Robinson, the voice of Cyborg, has shared that no one has even begun discussing a new season. He mentioned that whenever he asks co-creator Greg Weisman about it, he doesn’t get a clear answer.
Robinson said that whenever he speaks with Greg, the response is consistently, ‘No, but you never know.’ He also pointed out that the show constantly has to demonstrate its success with high viewership, despite frequently being one of the platform’s most popular shows, according to The Direct.
Robinson confirmed that there aren’t any discussions happening right now about continuing the show. While he’d be happy to come back, the future is uncertain because of the recent changes at Warner Bros., the company that owns the series. He emphasized, “There haven’t been any talks at all. I’d love to, but there just aren’t any discussions happening,” and explained that the final decision lies with Warner Bros.
Young Justice has a history that explains why fans are still eager for its return. The animated series originally aired on Cartoon Network but was canceled in 2013. However, years later, high demand on streaming platforms like Netflix led to the show being revived.
The show was brought back in 2019 with a third season on DC Universe. It then moved to HBO Max for its fourth season, called Young Justice: Phantoms. That season finished in June 2022, and there haven’t been any announcements about a new season since then.
The team behind the show has plenty of future storylines and character development already planned. Artist Christopher Jones mentioned they maintain detailed outlines for potential future seasons. However, these ideas won’t be developed further until the studio decides to renew the show.
