Asmongold explains why he has “no interest” in being friends with other streamers anymore

Asmongold, a popular streamer on Twitch and Kick, has explained his decision to leave Mythic Talent, the agency he helped start, by saying he’s no longer interested in maintaining close relationships with other content creators.

On March 7th, Mythic Talent and Asmongold announced they had agreed to end their partnership. Mythic Talent stated they are dedicated to creating a respectful and responsible environment and working with diverse creators.

In a recent statement, the company emphasized its commitment to creators, stating they are dedicated to helping them establish lasting and successful careers.

The next day, Asmongold spoke about the issue, stating he had no problem with Mythic Talent. He also defended them against claims that the organization was unfairly taking a cut from money earned through brand deals.

Asmon says he’s been facing ongoing issues for the past five years. He also hasn’t had a say in decisions at Mythic for over a year, as he’s no longer interested in handling problems related to streamers.

Asmongold announced he’s leaving Mythic, explaining he has no problems with the agency itself, but wants to avoid the negativity surrounding it. He also dismissed allegations made by Grimmi as completely false, and said he actually felt sorry for Mythic, despite not being particularly invested in the situation.

Asmongold says being friends with streamers is a “liability”

Asmongold recently shared on his livestream that he prefers to support causes he genuinely cares about, and he doesn’t consider streaming itself to be one of those causes.

I’m trying to avoid becoming friends with people who are constantly in the spotlight and face a lot of public criticism. It always leads to drama and strange situations. I’m a very loyal friend and naturally want to support people, but I’ve realized many of my friendships within the streaming world have become more trouble than they’re worth.

The streamer on Kick and Twitch didn’t only say other streamers were holding him back. He also pointed out that he could be a problem for them, too – that the feeling was mutual.

Asmongold has shared his thoughts on the current state of talents in the game and explained why he’s starting to view relationships with other streamers – friendships and collaborations – as potential problems he wants to avoid. He emphasized that this isn’t about disliking anyone, but rather a desire to focus on his own path and move forward.

Look, I’ve built up a pretty big following, so naturally, I get a lot of people voicing strong opinions about everything I do. They get upset if I say something they don’t like or make a decision they disagree with. Honestly, I’m trying to distance myself from all the drama and negativity that comes with being a streamer and being part of the streaming world. I just want to focus on gaming and avoid getting caught up in all that other stuff.

He clarified that he doesn’t dislike all streamers, but he has no desire to become friends with them, collaborate on events, or socialize with anyone involved in the streaming world.

The streamer emphasized he holds no grudges against the team at Mythic and is genuinely happy with their success, but he’s ready to pursue a new chapter in his life.

He’s not saying he’ll never collaborate with others, but he’s much more likely to work with creators who aren’t on Twitch. Asmon says he’s ‘far more open’ to collaborations with streamers on other platforms.
