The Lost City Was a Star-Studded Affair
The action-adventure film showcases a surprisingly villainous role for Daniel Radcliffe. The Lost City follows Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum as a romance author and her book cover model, who find themselves on the run from a wealthy man determined to use her fictional stories to locate a legendary lost city.
I recently watched this movie and it’s a fun ride! Sandra Bullock plays Loretta Sage, a writer who used to be an archaeologist but now focuses on writing these adventure romance novels after losing her husband. Channing Tatum is Alan, the ridiculously handsome guy who poses as the hero on her book covers. Things get crazy when Daniel Radcliffe’s character, Abigail Fairfax, kidnaps Loretta during a book tour and drags her off to a remote island – apparently, there’s a lost treasure hidden there!
The Lost City was both a hit with critics and popular with audiences. It received a 78% approval rating from critics and is officially “Certified Fresh” based on over 270 reviews. Viewers loved it even more, giving it an 83% rating.
I just watched this movie directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, and they actually co-wrote the script with Dana Fox and Oren Uziel, which is pretty cool. I heard the budget was somewhere between $68 and $74 million, and thankfully, it earned around $192.9 million worldwide, meaning it made a little bit of profit for Paramount Pictures.
I really enjoyed seeing Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Brad Pitt, Bowen Yang, and Óscar Nuñez alongside Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, and Daniel Radcliffe in The Lost City. They all added so much to the movie!
The Lost City Will Receive a Reunion
While a sequel to The Lost City isn’t currently in the works, fans will be happy to hear that Sandra Bullock is reuniting with the film’s writer, Dana Fox, for a new project. Details about the story are being kept secret, but Bullock will both star in and produce the movie, which Sony will release.
Daniel Radcliffe has been keeping busy with a new sitcom called The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, which premiered in mid-February. The show, starring Tracy Morgan, brought together several people who previously worked on 30 Rock, and critics have given it perfect reviews.
The actor recently returned to Broadway with his one-person show, Every Brilliant Thing. His Harry Potter co-star, Tom Felton, came to see the show and shared pictures of their reunion on Instagram, showing his support.
Channing Tatum had a strong year in 2024, starring in the psychological thriller Blink Twice and making his first appearance as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine. He’s also set to return as the character in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.
