Rotta the Hutt, a surprisingly strong character first seen in The Mandalorian with Grogu, is getting a closer look in a new image released for the next Star Wars film.
While The Mandalorian drew heavily from the Mandalorian stories first told in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, it surprised many by bringing back a character from the 2008 Clone Wars movie. Rotta, a helpless baby Hutt rescued by Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, is actually the son of Jabba the Hutt from Return of the Jedi – and he’s all grown up now.
Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in The Bear, will voice the character Rotta – nicknamed “Stinky” – when Din Djarin and Grogu encounter the dangerous Hutt Clan in The Mandalorian and Grogu. According to Jon Favreau, who spoke with Empire and shared a new image of Allen White as Rotta, the character is a skilled fighter, battling as a gladiator.
