According to tech reviewer Marques Brownlee, Apple’s latest MacBook Neo probably isn’t the best choice for most tech fans.
On March 4th, Apple introduced the MacBook Neo, a more affordable laptop aimed at users who mainly need it for basic activities like web browsing, email, and simple work tasks.
In a recent video, Brownlee explained that this more affordable Mac is designed for everyday tasks, not the demanding work that many tech enthusiasts do.
He described it as a very simple computer, suggesting that if you’re questioning whether it has enough memory for your needs, it’s likely not the right choice for you.

Marques believes this laptop isn’t really aimed at people who frequently watch tech reviews online.
Look, if you’re already questioning why it has USB-C instead of Thunderbolt, this probably isn’t the machine for you. Honestly, if you’re even watching this review the day it came out because you follow tech stuff on YouTube, it’s likely not what you need. It’s just not aimed at that level of user.
Brownlee believes the MacBook Neo seems ideal for typical daily use, like browsing and simple tasks, rather than demanding applications that need a lot of power.
He pointed out that many everyday computer tasks – like browsing the internet, sending emails, online shopping, and using spreadsheets – don’t need a lot of processing power.
After a quick test, Brownlee found the device appeared to perform those tasks easily.
After only a few minutes of playing around with it, the Tech YouTuber said it appeared to work perfectly for the intended purpose.
I wouldn’t try to do demanding tasks like video editing with this device – that would be pushing it too far. However, I think it could easily handle basic photo editing, running multiple applications at once, and generally work well as a reliable computer.
