With the season 4 finale of HBO’s Industry now available, let’s discuss what the future holds for this gripping financial drama. Most viewers would agree that season 4 was fantastic. The eight episodes were packed with memorable moments – from Henry Muck’s disastrous 40th birthday to the shocking revelations about Tender, plus complicated relationships and high-stakes deals. The show also featured a great soundtrack and thought-provoking commentary on money, power, and ambition. And with Kit Harington in a leading role, what’s not to enjoy?
There’s a special joy in finding a TV show you absolutely love – one with characters you connect with and can’t stop thinking about, and that you immediately urge everyone to watch. (Though let’s be real, everyone has their own viewing list!). With Yasmin Kara-Hanani and Harper Stern both facing huge challenges at the end of Season 4, let’s dive into what’s next.
‘Industry’ Season 5 Confirmation

HBO/BBC
Good news for fans of Industry: Season 5 is happening! However, it will also be the show’s last season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, creators Konrad Kay and Mickey Down announced that the fifth season will conclude the series.
We’ve been carefully considering how to conclude the show at its peak. We believe in knowing when it’s time to finish, much like some of our characters would.
That was a lovely sentiment. While we could happily watch Yasmin and Harper’s story continue indefinitely, we’re relieved Kay and Down are getting the ending they deserve. There’s nothing more frustrating than a disappointing season finale, especially when it turns out to be the show’s last episode due to unexpected cancellation.
As of today, we don’t know when Season 5 of Industry will be released. While some streaming shows have long gaps between seasons (Stranger Things), and others return quickly (The Pitt and Paradise), Industry has consistently released a new season every two years. The first season premiered in 2020, followed by Season 2 in August 2022, Season 3 in August 2024, and Season 4 in January 2026. Given this pattern, 2028 seems like a possible release year, but fans are left to speculate.
What Story Could ‘Industry’ Season 5 Tell?

HBO
What makes Industry so compelling is that everything ultimately comes down to finance, but creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay consistently deliver engaging drama. They know how the story will end, though they’re keeping the specifics under wraps. In a recent interview with Deadline, Kay described the show as a blend of “conspiracy thriller, corporate thriller, and erotic thriller.” He went on to say:
Season 5 is really good because we’re aware of how the story concludes and what happens to each character in the end.
Kay described Season 5 of Industry as having a greater emphasis on character development and inner lives. Compared to previous seasons which were fast-paced and full of twists, this final season seems like it will be more subdued. However, it likely won’t be too quiet, considering the show is known for its characters’ daring and courageous actions.
Okay, let’s talk about the Industry Season 4 finale. It definitely left us with a lot to unpack for Season 5. Henry’s completely tangled up in the fallout from the Tender situation, and his relationship with Yasmin is clearly on shaky ground. I fully expect both of those storylines to be major players next season. The show seems really interested in digging into what truly makes a relationship work, and how our histories impact our ability to fully commit – and I don’t think they’re finished exploring that just yet.
Everyone is hoping Harper and Yasmin can find some resolution. Showrunner Down has indicated that we’ll see more of their friendship explored in the fifth season, stating that a connection between them is necessary. Given their shared difficult experiences and complex bond, it would be disappointing if the new season didn’t delve into this further. The fourth season of the show ended with Harper confronting Yasmin, pointing out that Yasmin isn’t being authentic, highlighted by the disturbing dinner party she hosted for a controversial political candidate. Harper is aware of a terrible truth – the young girls present were being abused – while Yasmin chooses to ignore it. This creates a painful and important moment in their friendship, and powerfully echoes Yasmin’s own difficult upbringing.
What Cast Members Could Star In ‘Industry’ Season 5?

HBO
Although the full cast for Season 5 of Industry hasn’t been revealed yet, Myha’la and Marisa Abela are expected to return as Harper and Yasmin. Kit Harington and Max Minghella will likely reprise their roles as Henry Muck and Whitney Halberstram, given the ongoing connection between Henry and Yasmin’s storylines and Whitney’s brief appearance in the Season 4 finale. We can also anticipate Edward Holcroft returning as Sebastian Stefanowicz, Yasmin’s problematic colleague. Fans are hoping to see Kiernan Shipka back as Hayley, as she was a welcome addition to Season 4.

We can also expect to see more of Harper’s partner, Kwabena (Toheeb Jimoh), and Sweepea (Miriam Petche) in the next season, as they’re colleagues who recently achieved a big success. Though it’s hard to imagine letting go of this great financial thriller, fans are hoping these well-loved characters finally find some happiness after everything they’ve been through.
