KSI becomes owner of football team he used to play as in FIFA

Popular YouTuber KSI is set to become a part-owner of the Dagenham & Redbridge football club, which plays in the National League. An agreement has been reached, though final details are still being worked out.

Olajide Olatunji, also known as KSI, announced on X that he’s becoming a part-owner of a London soccer club, as long as the league approves the deal.

According to sources familiar with the plan, KSI is set to become a part-owner of the sixth-tier football club, taking a 20% share.

KSI is thrilled to begin this new chapter and is confident it will be an exciting, unpredictable ride. He’s hoping to help Dagenham and Redbridge return to their former success, something long-time fans will appreciate as it brings him back to where his football journey began. He invites everyone to join him on this adventure and plans to be at Victoria Road this Saturday, with plans to stream the experience as well.

I’m really excited to begin this new challenge! It’s going to be a tough ride, but I’m hoping to restore Dagenham and Redbridge (@Dag_RedFC) to their former success. For longtime fans who remember our time striving for Division One, this feels like coming home. Come along for the ride!

KSI joins overhauled ownership group at Dagenham & Redbridge

KSI’s arrival marks the latest change in a reshaped ownership structure at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Last month, a US investment group called Happy Fan Group bought the club, and former player Anwar Uddin was appointed chairman.

Tony Fernandes, the CEO of AirAsia, is also likely to agree to a deal for a small ownership share. He used to own part of Queens Park Rangers football club, from 2011 to 2023, and was its chairman until 2018.

KSI started his YouTube channel in 2009, initially focusing on FIFA gameplay videos. Over time, he’s grown his brand to include music, boxing, and various business projects. In 2023, Forbes recognized his success by ranking him as the second-highest-earning creator.

He is a founding member of the Sidemen, now famous for the Sidemen Charity football matches.

I’m seriously impressed with everything he’s doing! Not only is he a creator, but he actually started his own record label! And get this – he teamed up with Logan Paul and MrBeast to create a lunch brand for kids. It’s amazing to see him branching out like that!
