Now that Bridgerton Season 4 has finished, fans are wondering what’s coming next. Netflix has renewed the show for Seasons 5 and 6, but the recent season has led to many viewers hoping for a separate series focused on a surprising character who returned.

Okay, so I’m totally hooked on this period drama! It’s still hanging out at number two on Netflix, which is awesome. The latest part, Season 4 Part 2, dropped on February 26th, and it’s all about Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie – their romance is seriously like a fairytale, a total Cinderella story!

After a joyful conclusion to their story, Bridgerton added a surprise scene after the credits, much like a Marvel movie, which offered a rewarding moment for viewers. The couple finally married in a private ceremony with close friends and family at their beloved cottage.

Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) are among the people gathered, and Anthony has a chance to make amends for previously doubting his brother’s romance with Sophie. He jokingly tells everyone, “Never listen to me again.”

Okay, so Anthony and Kate are back, and everyone – myself included! – is seriously hoping Netflix gives them their own show, especially now with little Edmund! But honestly, it doesn’t look like it’s gonna happen. I was checking around, and even the author of the books doesn’t think it’s very likely. Total bummer, right?

This couple was featured prominently on Season 2 of the Netflix show, and later revealed they were expecting a baby during Season 3. They then chose to move to India, Kate’s home country, so their child could experience her culture.

I was so thrilled to see them with their son, Edmund, in that little extra scene after Season 4! It was a quick moment, though, and honestly, I’m already hoping we get to see more of their family in the future. It was just a tease, and I want to see them interact more!

Fans are enthusiastically requesting a spin-off series focused on these three characters. One viewer stated they deserve more than just a few scenes throughout the season, while another specifically wants to see a show detailing their adventures in India. Many are passionately demanding a dedicated spin-off for them.

Unfortunately, the author of the original book series, Julia Quinn, doesn’t believe a third season is likely because the actors are both very busy. Ashley is currently filming The Devil Wears Prada 2, and Bailey recently appeared in the Wicked movies.

In an interview with Us Weekly about the fourth season, Quinn emphasized that both Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley have demanding careers. She expressed her gratitude that they were able to prioritize and find time to participate in the show.

Honestly, getting all the actors back for a full season just wasn’t feasible with everyone’s busy schedules. But the scenes they are in are fantastic, and I’m so happy with how they turned out! I have a feeling Kate and Anthony’s fans are going to be especially excited when they see what we’ve got.

Regarding a potential spinoff series, she said they discussed focusing on the characters in India, but it’s unlikely to happen. With the success of ‘Wicked’ and other projects, she doesn’t think the network will commit to another TV show right now.

Bridgerton producer reveals plans for spinoffs

Good news for fans! Seasons 5 and 6 are already in the works, and they’ll focus on the stories of Francesca (played by Hannah Dodd) and Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie). Plus, the show’s producer, Tom Verica, has hinted at plans for even more shows set in this world in the future.

Considering how popular Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story became, it’s not unexpected. While he couldn’t reveal specifics, he mentioned that future stories will likely center on characters viewers have really connected with.

We really loved working on ‘Queen Charlotte,'” said Verica. “It focused on a single, intimate love story over the course of the series, and I think that’s what resonated with viewers.

When pressed for more information, he responded, “Let me just say, some of the characters you’ll encounter are familiar faces – people you’ve grown to care about.”
