Apple launches new iPhone 17e with fix for major complaint

Okay, so Apple just dropped some news – they’re releasing the iPhone 17e! It’s basically a slightly cheaper version of the iPhone 17, but they’ve still managed to pack in some cool upgrades without raising the price. Pretty neat, right?

Okay, so the new model finally has MagSafe, which is awesome! And get this – it comes with 256GB of storage right off the bat, which is double what you used to get for the base model. The best part? It still costs the same $599. Seriously, that’s a huge upgrade for the price!

You can pre-order the new phone starting March 4th, and it will be available in stores on March 11th. It comes in black, white, and a new soft pink color. Apple designed the iPhone 17e for people who want many of the best features of a high-end phone, but at a more affordable price. It includes faster performance, is built to be more durable, and offers improved charging.

The iPhone 17e now includes MagSafe technology, which enables faster wireless charging and works with Apple’s magnetic accessories.

MagSafe finally arrives on iPhone 17e

Responding to customer feedback, Apple’s iPhone 17e now includes MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging, allowing for faster 15W charging speeds – a significant upgrade from the 7.5W Qi charging available on the iPhone 16e. This feature lets users easily connect and use accessories like chargers, wallets, cases, and stands that magnetically attach to the back of the phone.

Apple is giving the iPhone 17e twice the base storage – now at 256GB – and still keeping it affordable.

Apple says the new device has twice the storage as the previous model and four times more than the iPhone 12 did when it first came out. This extra space is designed for people who take lots of high-quality photos and videos, and download bigger apps.

With its latest release, Apple now offers a more compact iPhone option. The new iPhone 17e has a 6.1-inch screen, while the standard iPhone 17 has a slightly larger 6.3-inch display.

This new, affordable iPhone uses the same A19 chip as the standard iPhone 17. It also boasts a high-quality 48MP camera with 2x optical zoom and can record video in 4K at up to 60 frames per second using Dolby Vision.

Apple plans to launch more than one new iPhone in 2026. While details are still emerging, they’re expected to release the iPhone 18 this fall, and there’s a possibility we’ll also see Apple’s first foldable phone at the same time.
