It’s established that the world of Elden Ring is inherently steeped in darkness, stemming from the death of Godwyn the Golden and the resulting rage of his mother. However, when it comes to a truly grim and unsettling atmosphere, FromSoftware’s Bloodborne is darker. Its city, Yharnam, is overrun by terrifying creatures, and the game deeply explores the suffering of women.
A dedicated fan has created a mod that blends the worlds of Elden Ring and Bloodborne, resulting in a much darker and grimmer gameplay experience, letting players feel the terror of Bloodborne‘s Yharnam within Elden Ring.
Elden Ring: Graceborne Marries Two Excellent Games
After two years of work, Noctic has released Graceborne, a free mod for Elden Ring that blends the atmosphere of Bloodborne with Elden Ring‘s gameplay. Available on Nexus Mods, Graceborne plunges the Lands Between into a darker world, adding features like usable trick weapons, guns that can deflect attacks, quick evasive maneuvers, and permanent nighttime. With the recent 2.0 update, Noctic’s creation looks better than ever, bringing iconic Bloodborne mechanics to Elden Ring fans.
The creator emphasizes this isn’t a remake, sequel, or even inspired by Bloodborne; it’s just a mod created for enjoyment, with a visual style similar to the game. However, Graceborne could eventually grow into a substantial expansion, featuring its own unique world and story, similar in scope to The Old Hunters DLC.
This Is A Mod By Fans, For Fans
Just from the screenshots, it’s obvious this Graceborne mod really captures the feel of Bloodborne – everything I love about that game is there! But it’s also clearly set in the world of Elden Ring, which is amazing. You can even play as a Tarnished wearing Hunter gear! And the creator isn’t stopping there – they’re planning to add bosses, areas, characters, quests, and even cutscenes that blend the best parts of both games together. It’s like getting a whole new experience that feels both familiar and fresh!
Since its release in 2024, Graceborne has been downloaded over 136,000 times, demonstrating the huge demand for more Bloodborne content. While fans have consistently tried to bring the 2015 RPG to PC, Sony hasn’t released an official updated version. That’s why creators like this are so important – they allow us to continue enjoying Bloodborne at a high quality in 2026.
