The Best Horror Show Of The Decade Devours The Competition On MGM+

The critically acclaimed horror series is back on MGM+, and it’s quickly becoming the most popular show on streaming.

The last decade has seen a surge of excellent horror shows, including Mike Flanagan’s The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, as well as IT: Welcome to Derry, Evil, The Last of Us, Stranger Things, and Yellowjackets. These series all offer unique takes on the horror genre, successfully breaking new ground whether they’re limited runs or ongoing stories, and regardless of where you watch them.

The critically acclaimed horror series From has returned for its fourth season and is currently the most-watched show on MGM+’s streaming platforms in the US, including through Amazon Channel. It’s proving more popular than other series like Stephen King’s The Institute, Robin Hood with Sean Bean, Kaley Cuoco’s Vanished, and Earth Abides. From is also attracting more viewers than several popular movies available through MGM+’s Amazon Channel, including Mercy, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, and The Equalizer starring Denzel Washington.

The show’s recent success follows its record-breaking viewership on MGM+, making it the most popular series ever on the platform. Set in a town where everyone is trapped, the story centers on residents fighting to survive nightly attacks from terrifying monsters. As the series unfolds and the characters try to escape their horrifying situation, it becomes apparent that the monsters are just the beginning of a much larger and more sinister threat, including the frightening figure known as the Man in Yellow (Douglas E. Hughes).

MGM+ is seeing incredible success, with record-breaking viewership and overwhelmingly positive reviews. Critics and audiences alike have given the show high marks on Rotten Tomatoes – 97% and 83% respectively. Season 4 has been even better, achieving a perfect 100% score from critics and a 92% audience score. Jordan Williams of ScreenRant gave Season 4 nine out of ten stars, highlighting that the new season feels more focused and well-paced, with compelling storylines and twists that are evident right from the first episode.

Before season 4 even began, the show was renewed for a fifth and final season. This means season 4 is the next-to-last one, bringing the horror story closer to its conclusion and finally revealing answers to mysteries that have been building for a while.

Joining the cast of From as a new series regular is Sophia, played by Julia Doyle. Many familiar faces return from previous seasons, including Harold Perrineau as Sheriff Boyd Stevens, Catalina Sandino Moreno as Tabitha Matthews, David Alpay as Jade Herrera, Hannah Cheramy as Julie Matthews, Simon Webster as Ethan Matthews, Corteon Moore as Ellis Stevens, Pegah Ghafoori as Fatima Hassan, Scott McCord as Victor Kavanaugh, Avery Konrad as Sara Myers, Elizabeth Saunders as Donna Raines, Ricky He as Kenny Liu, Chloe Van Landschoot as Kristi Miller, Nathan D. Simmons as Elgin Williams, A.J. Simmons as Randall Kirkland, Robert Joy as Henry Kavanaugh, Kaelen Ohm as Marielle Sinclair, Angela Moore as Bakta, and Samantha Brown as Officer Acosta.

The series was created by John Griffin, and Jeff Pinker served as showrunner. Jack Bender directed a significant number of episodes, and all three were also executive producers. Additionally, AGBO, the production company behind the directors of Avengers: Endgame (Joe and Anthony Russo), contributed as executive producers.

From season 4 releases new episodes on Sundays on MGM+.
