Resident Evil Requiem has arrived, and it’s a truly frightening game, especially if you’re new to the series and trying to survive. The Rhodes Hill Care Center is incredibly challenging, and your main goal is to escape its horrors.
There’s a catch: the building is completely locked down. The only exit is the front door, but it requires three special quartz crystals – the Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz – to unlock.
Moon Quartz is pretty easy to find, but getting Sun Quartz takes more effort. You’ll need to explore and revisit areas, a bit like the classic Resident Evil games.
Thankfully, we know how to open the box, so you don’t have to try and worry about the guesswork.
Where to Find the Sun Puzzle Box
And the Corrosive
The Sun Puzzle Box is located in the Lead Researcher’s Office and is fairly easy to find. However, it’s locked, and you won’t be able to open it right away. Luckily, a letter in the office explains that you can dissolve the metal lock using a corrosive substance – which is exactly what we need to do to get the box open.
You can find The Corrosive in the Conference Room, near the Patient Medical Records. Be sure to read these records, as you’ll need them to unlock the Case Closed trophy.
There are also some pretty tough enemies in the Conference Room, so be ready to sink or swim.
Once you have the corrosive substance, you can return to the Lead Researcher’s Office and open the box.
How to Open the Puzzle Box
When you’re in the Lead Researcher’s Office, you’ll find three pictures to examine. One of them, Lead Researcher’s Picture 1, contains a hidden clue in the background. If you look carefully, you’ll notice the Sun Puzzle Box, and it’s already been partially solved – the Moon and Sun buttons are pressed.

Similar to the Moon Puzzle Box, solving the Sun Puzzle Box begins and ends by interacting with the sun symbol. This creates a sequence of Sun, a blank space, Moon, and then Sun. Since we hadn’t used the star button yet, it’s logical to assume that’s where it belongs in the solution.
With that, we have our code with a little bit of easy reasoning: Sun, Star, Moon, Sun.
Once you enter the code, you’ll receive the Sun Quartz you need, along with a leather journal. This journal contains two important files: one that advances the story, and another explaining how to unlock the organ box.
