One of MrBeast’s video editors is facing accusations of insider trading. He’s alleged to have made bets on the Kalshi platform using confidential information before it became publicly available. He’s been ordered to pay a $20,000 fine, and MrBeast’s company, Beast Industries, is also investigating the situation.
Kalshi isn’t just for typical sports betting. The platform also lets people bet on unique real-world events. For example, users can make predictions about MrBeast’s videos – like how long they’ll be or if he’ll feature specific brands.
On February 25, 2026, Kalshi suspended two users who were believed to have broken its rules. One of those suspended was Artem Kaptur, who works as an editor for MrBeast.
An employee at Beast Industries reportedly made about $4,000 worth of trades based on activity surrounding MrBeast’s online content. As a result, they’ve been fined $20,000 and are prohibited from using Kalshi for two years.
MrBeast editor accused of insider trading
According to Bobby DeNault, head of enforcement and legal counsel at Kalshi, every type of financial market – including stock exchanges, banks, and even prediction markets – is vulnerable to fraud and dishonest activity.
We are dedicated to stopping and identifying people who cause harm, deceive others, or intentionally break the rules.
Video editor Kurt Kaptur, who has worked on both MrBeast’s YouTube videos and the Prime Video show Beast Games, was accused of illegal betting using confidential information he gained while employed by MrBeast’s company, Beast Industries.
Kalshi’s systems detected unusual betting patterns from the editor, which appeared almost too good to be true. This happened around the same time other users began noticing a remarkably successful record associated with a user named Kaptur.

A Beast Industries representative said the company strongly condemns this behavior, both from participants in the show and from its own staff.
MrBeast’s company says it has rules preventing employees from sharing confidential information. Beast Industries has started its own investigation into the matter.
