Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire, now called The Vampire Lestat, will premiere next month.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of AMC’s popular supernatural series, Interview with the Vampire, since the season 2 finale aired in June 2024. The next season will center around the main character sharing his life story, and a key part of that will involve him starting a band and going on tour. Recent announcements suggest the wait for new episodes won’t be much longer.
Following discussions about a title that would showcase Sam Reid’s performance, it’s official: Season 3 of Interview with the Vampire will launch in June. AMC announced the premiere date on Twitter, along with a new poster emphasizing Lestat’s rockstar image. You can see the poster below.
The new season of the show will be based on the second book in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles, and the title change reflects this. This season focuses on rock and roll, featuring Lestat on a concert tour. However, his tour is complicated by people from his past who are trying to find him.
As Lestat’s group becomes more famous, his power over both vampires and humans grows. This forces others to deal with his unsettling abilities and a sudden, massive increase in the vampire population – an event called the Great Conversion.
In addition to being the main focus of The Vampire Lestat, the cast of Interview with the Vampire will once again include Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, and Delainey Hayles, who play Louis de Pointe du Lac, Armand, Daniel Molloy, and Claudia respectively. They had smaller roles in season two.
Similar to what happened with Interview with the Vampire, which now includes several shows on AMC and AMC+, the cast will be growing. Joining the series are Jennifer Ehle (known for Zero Dark Thirty and The King’s Speech) as Lestat’s mother, Gabriella, along with Damien Atkins, Ella Ballentine, Jeanine Serralles, and Christopher Heyerdahl.
Sheila Atim, known for her role in The Woman King, has joined the cast as Akasha, the original vampire. Noah Reid, Ryan Kattner, Seamus Patterson, and Sarah Swire will play members of Lestat’s band. These new additions bring a lot of exciting changes to the show, which has already become known as one of the best on television in recent years.
The team behind the scenes, including Rolin Jones as showrunner and executive producer alongside Mark Johnson, Hannah Moscovitch, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice, will remain the same. After a long promotional period teasing Lestat’s comeback, fans won’t have to wait much longer for the next season of Interview with the Vampire.
