Dr Disrespect faced public criticism from the creators of the game Marathon after he suggested he had a partnership with them for its release.
On February 25th, the streamer caused some confusion by hinting at an official partnership with Bungie for their new game. He used the hashtag “#marathonpartner” in a post that suggested he would soon be sharing details.
Now, the Marathon development team has directly denied any partnership.
Dr Disrespect lies about being official partner yet again
Dr Disrespect shared a preview on X (formerly Twitter) on February 25th, announcing that photos from a recent shoot would be released the next day. He hyped it up, saying it would be ‘cinema’ and using the hashtag #marathonpartner.
The post showed a digitally altered picture of the streamer, made to look like a professional promotional image. This caused some fans to wonder if he’d partnered with Bungie to promote the game’s release.
he’s not partnered

Forbes reporter Paul Tassi questioned the validity of a potential Bungie collaboration in a public tweet, asking if the claim was true or another fabrication.
Soon after, the official Marathon Development Team account responded to Tassi, confirming that he was not an official partner.
This explanation follows Dr Disrespect’s earlier claim that he participated in an event for the game Highguard. The game’s community manager quickly refuted this on X (formerly Twitter).
Marathon will launch on March 5, 2026, but players can get an early preview starting Thursday, February 26th. Developers are running a server test to make sure Bungie’s multiplayer servers are ready for launch.
