Insomniac Games has announced the release date for their highly anticipated game, Marvel’s Wolverine, starring Logan. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news for years, and this announcement finally gives a clear timeline for when they can play. It’s one of the most exciting upcoming exclusive games for PlayStation.

Insomniac announces September release date for Marvel’s Wolverine game

Insomniac Games has revealed that Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026. The announcement was made on social media with a straightforward message confirming the date.

Sony also posted, “Who’s ready for September 15, 2026? Wishlist Marvel’s #WolverinePS5 now.”

The announcement included a dynamic image of Wolverine with his claws out, set against a yellow backdrop. The logos of Marvel, PlayStation Studios, and Insomniac Games were also featured. A short, six-second teaser trailer was released at the same time.

The upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game will be available only on PlayStation 5. We first got a glimpse of the game at The Game Awards in 2021 with a short video. After a long period with no news, a trailer released last year showed off some of the game’s environments and confirmed that Liam McIntyre will be playing Wolverine.

The PlayStation Blog previously announced the game as a worldwide thriller, revealing characters like Mystique and Omega Red. The game’s description explains that as Wolverine investigates his past, he’ll use intense claw combat, powerful rage, and unwavering resolve to uncover the truth about who he once was.

Insomniac Games, known for the popular Marvel’s Spider-Man games on PlayStation and PC, is releasing Marvel’s Wolverine on September 15, 2026. This will be before the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026. The last solo Wolverine game was X-Men Origins: Wolverine, released in 2009 by Raven Software and based on the movie.
