Pokemon Go’s Link Charges are a helpful new addition, letting players participate in challenging Raids to catch top-tier Pokemon. Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to understand about them.
Pokemon Go is constantly being updated with new content – like new Pokemon, Raids, research tasks, and changes to boss battles – to keep things interesting for players. Recently, they’ve added two brand new features: Super Mega Raids and Link Charges.
These two features go hand-in-hand. You’ll need to grasp what Link Charges are and how to obtain them before you can participate fully in Super Mega Raids. Here’s a complete explanation of Link Charges.
What are Link Charges in Pokemon Go?
Link Charges are items you need to enter a Mega Raid or a Super Mega Raid in Pokemon Go.
Link Charges work like an admission fee. Going to a regular Mega Raid will cost 150 Link Charges. But we suggest holding onto them for the more challenging Super Mega Raids instead.
If you’re short on Link Charges, you can still join these raids by using a Premium Battle Pass. Think of Link Charges as a way to reduce how often you need to use your Battle Passes.
How to get Link Charges
There are four ways for you to get Link Charges in Pokemon Go:
- Buying them in the shop
- Completing weekly challenges
- Opening Gifts
- Attending meetups through the Campfire app

You can purchase Link Charges with PokeCoins in the Shop. 200 Link Charges cost 100 PokeCoins, while 600 Link Charges cost 300 PokeCoins.
As a player, I’ve found that there are a ton of weekly challenges, and they’re a great way to earn Link Charges. If you team up with friends, you can really maximize how many you get, so I definitely recommend checking them out if you want to boost your Link Charge count!
Checking gifts daily is a simple way to potentially earn extra Link Charges. It’s not guaranteed, but it’s worth doing regularly if you want to collect more items.
You can also earn Link Charges if you regularly connect with a group using the Campfire app.
That covers everything about Link Charges in Pokémon Go. As you prepare for your next big raid, don’t forget to check the raid schedule for Max Mondays and keep an eye on the in-game shop, upcoming events, and available promo codes for free rewards.
