NCSOFT released a team-based strategy game with gacha elements – there are a lot of these types of games already! – but it’s surprisingly well-made. I’m here to share a guide to the best characters in *Blade and Soul Heroes*. Because most characters are useful in at least one area of the game, I’ve ranked the strongest based on how well they perform across all game modes. Here’s my *Blade and Soul Heroes* tier list, taking into account team roles, elemental strengths, and overall power.
Blade and Soul Heroes Hero Tier List
Blade & Soul: Heroes has a lot of playable characters, so I’ve created three different tier lists to cover them all. Ranking them traditionally doesn’t really work because each Hero can excel in specific game modes. Saying one Hero is the ‘best’ would be inaccurate – even a Hero considered weak overall can be very strong in the right situation. Instead, my rankings focus on Heroes who consistently perform well across a wide variety of game modes, prioritizing those with the most overall strength and high ratings based on:
- Tier 0 & Tier 1: These two Tiers are currently the strongest characters for Leaders and/or within their role/element that are good for any mode in the game.
- Tier 2 & Tier 3: These are good for most modes and require a bit of team-building around elements or are fillers if your 5-man team lacks a DPS or Support. They’re usually not the best leaders.
- Tier 4: These are picks that are only really good in one mode.
I’m going to break down the strongest teams in Blade and Soul Heroes by looking at top Heroes for each role and element.
Blade and Soul Heroes: Best Heroes Ranked by Element
In Blade and Soul Heroes, the most effective teams are built around combining heroes with complementary elemental powers. This guide highlights the best heroes for each elemental team composition. You can then complete your team with support characters and additional damage dealers from the hero tier list. Below are my recommendations for each element.
- Best Fire Team: Fire is really easy to build and use as a beginner and I would without a doubt put Sehwa as leader and then do Sansu, Ukaha, Chawoong/Hongbi and Uwon/Boryn.
- Best Poison Team: Poison is quite strong and also easy to build around Yura/Seomyeong with Ashjaw, Yonkai, Dark Striker and a support.
- Best Lightning Team: Inlang as leader, Salkhi, Golden Deva, Choi Jina and a support.
- Best Dark Team: Go for Mushin as leader and then Gwihan, Dura, Ayura and a support.
- Best Water Team: Water is less plentiful on good picks like Dark but a good team would be Yusol/Harin then Gwen and Gwon with a filler and then Boryn.
Blade and Soul Heroes: Best Heroes Ranked by Role
When building your team, you’ll have a Leader and four other members. A good balance is typically three damage dealers (DPS) and one support character. While there aren’t strict rules beyond having a Leader, it’s generally best to include at least one character who can heal, provide support, or defend, and then fill the remaining spots with DPS. Here’s a look at the top Heroes for each role in Blade and Soul Heroes.

What is the best Fire team composition in Blade and Soul Heroes?
If I were building a Fire team, I’d definitely choose Sehwa as the leader, followed by Sansu, and then either Chawoong or Hongbi, and finally Uwon or Boryn.
When it comes to choosing characters, Water-based teams are a little specialized. A strong lineup would include Yusol and Harin, followed by Gwen and Gwon, a flexible character to fill any gaps, and then Boryn.
This team is relatively easy to build and performs well, similar to Fire teams. It features Inlang Leader, Salkhi, Golden Deva, Choi Jina, and one support character.
Go for Mushin as leader and then Gwihan, Dura, Ayura and a support.
Build around Yura/Seomyeong with Ashjaw, Yonkai, Dark Striker and a support.
