It looks like filming for Season 3 of Wednesday has begun, based on a recent post from someone working on the show. This could give us a better idea of when we can expect it to be released. The popular Netflix series, which has attracted a large audience since it first aired, was quickly renewed for a third season, even before Season 2 came out. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show is inspired by the character Wednesday Addams, originally created by cartoonist Charles Addams.
Wednesday Season 3 could get a 2027 release date
Wednesday Season 3 is reportedly expected to come out sometime in 2027.
Jenna Ortega’s stunt double, Jenny Ayumi Umbhau, hinted on Instagram that filming for the third season of Wednesday has started. This follows an earlier announcement from Luis Guzmán, who plays Gomez Addams, that production would begin in February 2026, as he shared at a fan event last November.
Just one month after actor Hunter Doohan – who plays Tyler Galpin – shared on a podcast that filming for the third season would start shortly, details are emerging. He indicated the production schedule would likely be seven to eight months, similar to past seasons, and that filming would once again take place in Dublin, Ireland, where Season 2 was filmed.
According to Doohan’s update, production is expected to continue until September or October of 2026. After that, post-production will begin, and the project is currently on track for a release in 2027.
Season 3 of Wednesday will build upon the stories and characters we’ve already seen, and we’ll learn more about the Addams family. According to co-creator Alfred Gough, the new season will introduce more family members and reveal hidden family secrets (via Tudum).
I’m so excited for Season 3! It seems like things are going to pick up right after that crazy cliffhanger. Apparently, we’re going to meet Wednesday’s Aunt Ophelia, played by Eva Green, and she’s shaping up to be the new villain. I was shocked to learn that Wednesday actually saw Ophelia, imprisoned by Grandmama, scrawling a terrifying message – “Wednesday Must Die” – in blood on the wall. It’s a chilling setup, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
