Ubisoft boss confirms multiple Far Cry & Assassin’s Creed games in development

Ubisoft is working on significant updates to two of its most popular game series. Several new Assassin’s Creed games and two new Far Cry games are officially in the works.

So, Ubisoft’s CEO, Yves Guillemot, just laid out what’s coming next for the company, and it’s great news for fans of their big franchises! He basically said that both of those series are super important to Ubisoft and will definitely be around for a long time. It’s really reassuring to know they’re still committed to them.

In a recent Variety interview, Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot outlined the company’s plans for the next three years. He emphasized the importance of the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry series, announcing that two new Far Cry games and several Assassin’s Creed titles – including both multiplayer and single-player experiences – are in development.

Ubisoft CEO reveals multiple games currently in development

In a recent interview with Variety, Ubisoft’s Guillaume Guillemot shared that their Vantage Studios have a lot of exciting projects in the works. Several Assassin’s Creed games are currently being developed, including both single-player and multiplayer options. Ubisoft aims to expand the game’s already large community, which reached over 30 million players last year.

He also shared that the Far Cry series is moving forward with several new games in the works. He stated, “There’s a lot of excitement for Far Cry, and we have two really promising projects being developed right now.”

Okay, so Ubisoft hasn’t given us much to go on yet. They’re keeping details about the new Assassin’s Creed games and the next Far Cry titles totally under wraps – no release dates, no info on where they’ll be set, and basically no idea of what the gameplay will even be like. It’s frustrating, honestly – I’m dying to know more!

Ubisoft has already announced several upcoming Assassin’s Creed games. One, known as Codename Hexe and developed by Ubisoft Montreal, appears to be a darker story with a focus on witchcraft. Another is Codename Jade, a game designed for mobile devices and set in ancient China, though its release date hasn’t been announced yet.

Finally, there’s Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus, which will be a game primarily focused on multiplayer experiences.

It’s been relatively quiet about the future of the Far Cry series since Far Cry 6 launched in October 2021. Ubisoft hasn’t announced details about the next Far Cry games – like where they’ll be set, what they’ll be called, or when they’ll be released. But, according to recent comments from Ubisoft executive Yves Guillemot, two new Far Cry projects are currently being worked on, suggesting one could be released relatively soon.

Ubisoft hasn’t revealed what kind of Far Cry games these new projects will be – whether they’re the main series, focused on multiplayer, or separate stories.
