Following the recent arrest of Prince Andrew, there’s been renewed interest in the TV show ‘A Very Royal Scandal,’ and you can currently watch it without paying.
On February 19, 2026, the king’s brother was arrested and accused of wrongdoing while holding public office, due to his connections with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He had previously lost his title as Prince and no longer lived at his home, Royal Lodge.
Following almost 12 hours of police questioning in Norfolk, Andrew has been released while the investigation continues. The BBC understands that searches of the Royal Lodge are likely to go on until Monday, February 23rd.
His arrest comes soon after the US Justice Department made over three million documents from the Epstein case public. Prince Andrew was previously questioned about his relationship with Epstein in a well-known 2019 interview on the BBC’s Newsnight program, which was later turned into a television drama.

What is A Very Royal Scandal about?

“A Very Royal Scandal” tells the story of what happened before Prince Andrew’s controversial 2019 interview on BBC Newsnight, where he tried to explain his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
So, this documentary really dives into that interview Prince Andrew did with Emily Maitlis. It looks at how they even got him to agree to it, and then, more importantly, why it ended up being such a disaster for his reputation. It’s fascinating to see the behind-the-scenes stuff and how everything played out – honestly, it’s pretty wild.
Instead of going over the whole Epstein story again, this show really focuses on what happened behind the scenes with the media. It’s all about how the palace tried to control the damage and what the BBC team was going through as they prepared for what turned out to be a massively controversial interview – one everyone was watching and analyzing!

Michael Sheen stars as Andrew, and Ruth Wilson plays Emily Maitlis in the series. Joanna Scanlan, Alex Jennings, and Éanna Hardwicke appear in supporting roles, playing staff from both the royal household and the BBC production crew.
The three-part drama series, A Very Royal Scandal, originally aired in 2024 and continues to gain attention whenever there are updates in Prince Andrew’s legal case.
Also in that year, Netflix released a film called Scoop, which dramatized the story of the Newsnight interview. Unlike the series, the film mainly highlights Sam McAlister’s work to get the interview to happen.
