The Pokémon Company announced a new Pokémon Presents showcase to celebrate the series’ 30th anniversary next week on Friday, February 27th. It will air globally at 6:00 AM Pacific Time, 9:00 AM Eastern Time, and 11:00 PM in Japan.
The presentation is planned to last about 25 minutes and will showcase various Pokémon content beyond the main console games, including mobile apps, animated series, and the trading card game. However, many fans are hoping to see announcements of new core Pokémon games to celebrate this special anniversary. Historically, new mainline games have been revealed around this time – for example, Pokémon Sun and Moon were announced during the 20th-anniversary celebration in 2016 and released that November. Similarly, Pokémon Diamond & Pearl debuted in Japan as part of the 10th-anniversary festivities in September 2006.
To kick off the big anniversary events, the company announced that Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen—the updated versions of the original Pokémon Red & Green from 2004—would be coming to the Nintendo Switch, along with added music. Now, we anticipate the next Pokémon Presents presentation will showcase even more new games and announcements.
