Be warned: this article reveals key plot points from Season 3 of The Night Agent. All 10 episodes of the new season were released on Netflix at the same time, and it’s a fast-paced, addictive watch. The story continues a year after the events of Season 2, with Peter (Gabriel Basso) working as a night agent and waiting for his next assignment from Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum). This time, the mission is to secretly work with the FBI to bring Jacob down.
Just before a crucial phone call, Peter has to travel to Turkey to find a young man wrongly accused of murder. He quickly discovers this case is linked to Monroe, launching him into a thrilling and dangerous adventure. The journey ends with a surprising twist, leaving Peter uncertain about the future.
Tying Up Loose Ends in ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3, Episode 10

Netflix
The mystery is solved: First Lady Jenny Hagan, played by Jennifer Morrison, was the one who made a deal with Jacob. While President Richard Hagan (Ward Horton) doesn’t approve of her methods – she’s very good at persuading people – he understands why she did it. He’s now fully committed to protecting Jenny, their family, and his presidency, and is focused on resolving any remaining issues to secure both his wife and his position.
He orders Adam (David Lyons) to murder Jacob, making it look like a suicide, but Isabel (Genesis Rodriguez) is suspicious. Adam is then tasked with killing Chelsea (Fola Evans-Akingbola), who desperately seeks help from Peter. Chelsea demonstrates incredible bravery when the president tries to interfere, firmly refusing his orders. Peter narrowly succeeds in getting Chelsea to safety.
The president authorized attacks on all of Raul Zapata’s known locations, resulting in the terrorist’s death and resolving that immediate threat. However, the president still needs to tie up some remaining issues to fully conceal the truth.
They Crack the Code Ending Jacob’s Reign

Now that Isabel knows Jacob was her father and has the coded fairy tale book he left behind, she’s on the verge of exposing a huge conspiracy. Since Jacob has passed away, Isabel must crack the code herself, and she gets help from Jay, who surprisingly has a knack for puzzles in addition to his financial skills. With the code broken, Isabel is determined to expose corrupt companies, banks that turn a blind eye to wrongdoing, and even the President and First Lady themselves.
Getting approval to publish the story will be difficult. Her bosses and the newspaper’s lawyers need to verify the information, a process that could take weeks. While she insists the story is accurate, they need an official source. The only person who can directly connect Jacob to President Hagan is Chelsea, but the administration has already cast doubt on her credibility. There’s another potential source, though: Freya (Michaela Watkins) from the bank. She was involved in nearly every transaction, and if they can persuade her to tell the truth, Isabel might be able to publish her story. She proposes this plan to her team, and they agree it’s worth investigating.
Isabel went to visit Freya at her apartment, but soon after, two hitmen showed up, clearly sent to silence Freya before she could reveal anything damaging about the president. Freya escaped, but Isabel was captured. The assassins weren’t after Isabel, though, and with Chelsea’s assistance, she managed to get away. Freya, meanwhile, fled to Grand Central Station, hoping it was the one place they wouldn’t look. However, they found her there. Adam cleverly pretended she was a wanted criminal, convincing station security to help him locate her – a quick flash of his badge did the trick. Peter reached Freya first, and a fierce fight with the assassins broke out, leaving him severely injured.
Freya realizes her only option is to tell the truth as the others prepare to leave for the office. She hopes to negotiate a deal for herself. Just then, Adam shows up and shoots Peter, a famous action star, in the leg. It’s clear Adam intentionally shot to wound, not kill, despite being ordered to do so by Hagan. He’s become friends with Peter and is starting to doubt his orders.
Peter desperately tries to convince the man he trusted to believe what he’s saying. Adam realizes his long-time friend Richard has changed and is being manipulated by the president. Freya backs up this claim, admitting she and the president have been involved in shady activities. Peter bravely confronts Adam, even facing the barrel of his gun, to prove his honesty. Shaken, Adam finally allows Peter and Freya to leave.
How ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3 Ends

Netflix
The truth now rests on Freya and her willingness to share what she knows. During a live interview with Isabel, she confesses her involvement and exposes the president and first lady’s wrongdoing. However, she wants the Department of Justice to work out a deal with her first – only then will she reveal the full extent of the criminal activity. It’s clear the president and first lady are in serious trouble.
Honestly, even when things move quickly after uncovering criminal activity, it doesn’t guarantee a real resolution. In this show, we find out five weeks later that President Hagan resigned, but in a shocking move, he pardoned himself and his wife right before leaving office. And then, unbelievably, they just signed a big media deal and flew off to live a lavish life with their family, probably still protected by us, the taxpayers! It’s infuriating to watch, but so gripping.
Okay, so Freya’s finally tasting freedom after making a deal, and she’s celebrating with a martini when this guy walks up to her. It’s a total shock, because it turns out he’s ‘The Father’ – the assassin she’s been working with all along! They’ve only ever communicated remotely, so she had no idea what he actually looked like. And things are tense, because their last conversation ended with her pretty much threatening him for failing to eliminate Peter and Isabel. He acted like it didn’t bother him then, but clearly, he hasn’t forgotten.
Okay, so this guy is seriously good at blending in – and this time, we actually hear the actor Moyer using his natural British accent, which is a nice touch. He smoothly starts chatting with his target, buys her another drink, and then, chillingly, poisons it right under her nose before casually walking away. We quickly learn she doesn’t survive. As he walks off, enjoying a simple game of catch with his son on the boardwalk, it looks like he’s finally keeping his promise to leave this life behind. But the whole thing feels…calculated. It’s clear this final act of violence isn’t about ending his career, but about protecting the one person he truly cares for. It’s a disturbing juxtaposition of domestic normalcy and cold-blooded murder.
Jay won’t face any charges because investigators determined he acted in self-defense when he killed his former boss. He then appeared on a news program to explain how his financial expertise allowed him to uncover the plot and foresee the airplane attack. To help illustrate everything, he requested a whiteboard to draw a detailed explanation.

Isabel and Peter meet for coffee after Isabel’s recent articles on the unfolding events. Peter praises her reporting and thanks her for not mentioning his involvement with Jacob. Isabel explains it wasn’t important to the story and points out she understood Peter was the only one working with Jacob who genuinely wanted to help others. She shares that she’s hoping to find a better work-life balance, perhaps with a trip to Barcelona, and asks Peter about his future plans.
What’s Next for Peter After ‘The Night Agent’ Season 3?

Netflix
At the end of The Night Agent Season 3, Peter is enthusiastic about returning to work, but his boss, Aidan Mosley, suggests he take a break first. Peter’s request for a partner demonstrates he’s become more confident and mature. Aidan hints that he has someone suitable in mind when Peter is ready, which likely sets the stage for a new character and storyline in Season 4.
It’s honestly heartbreaking watching Peter try to figure out what to do with himself now that things have slowed down – it’s like he’s finally getting a chance to breathe after years of just surviving. I think we sometimes forget how incredibly lonely he is, but this season really digs into how much his mother’s death is affecting him. There’s this one scene that absolutely wrecked me – he goes to HR, wanting to make sure Rose gets his benefits when he’s gone, but they can only go to family. It just highlights how isolated he is and how much he’s hurting.
A recent episode of the popular Netflix show features a touching scene involving a childhood memory. Earlier in the series, Peter shared with Chelsea his fondest recollection of his mother. He revealed that his favorite treat is ice cream, and then described the last time he saw his mother. They were at the beach, and she bought him a red berry popsicle with a crunchy texture. He couldn’t recall the popsicle’s name, but remembered it had a blue cow on the packaging.
In the final scene of The Night Agent Season 3, after Isabel departs, Peter approaches an ice cream cart and scans the flavors. He spots it immediately: Razzmatazz. A smile spreads across his face as cherished memories surface. The vendor asks for his order, and Peter doesn’t hesitate. Though he’s currently alone, he feels his mother’s presence and knows she’s watching over him. It’s a touching conclusion to an excellent season.
