Nihon Falcom has added four new playable characters to the official Japanese website for Kyoto Xanadu, bringing the total number of revealed characters to nine. These additions expand on the five characters originally announced when the game was first shown.
Below you’ll find translations of the character bios. Kyoto Xanadu will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC (via Steam) in Summer 2026.
Rei Kamiya

Rei Kamiya
Voiced by Hiiro Ishibashi, 17 years old, wields Uchigatana & Wakizashi-type equipment
A 17-year-old high schooler who ends up studying at the Hirasaka Academy after a certain incident.
Despite still having a youthful side, he acts as if he understands everything that’s going on. He does things at his own speed, sometimes playfully teasing those around him, with results that can be both good and bad.
When Rei first arrived at school, he confidently announced he’d master the notoriously difficult “Hirasaka’s Great Labyrinth.” His classmates chuckled, thinking he was just boasting. But Rei was serious, and he cleverly drew his friends into helping him. He wasn’t afraid to ask for assistance, and sometimes even strategically used talented students to boost his own progress.

Fuka Rikudo
Voiced by Coco Hayashi, 17 years old, wields Naginata-type equipment
A second-year student in the Hirasaka Academy; she is registered in the same class as Rei.
She has a classically Japanese beauty, with long, straight black hair and a calm, thoughtful demeanor.
As the oldest daughter of the respected Rikudo family in Kyoto, she’s incredibly gifted. However, she has a complicated relationship with her older brother, Masayuki, who is a powerful and dominant student council president.
This makes Fuka hold back and live a quiet life at school, avoiding attention, which unfortunately leads to others dismissing her as useless. While she initially seems okay with this, the arrival of a new student named Rei will drastically change things for her.

Kazuki Nakiri
Voiced by Ryota Suzuki, 18 years old, wields War Axe-type equipment
A delinquent senior who acts like a lone wolf and is feared in the Hirasaka Academy.
He battles his destructive impulses within a dangerous maze, keeping them hidden from the world. However, when it comes to his sister, Sena, he doesn’t hesitate to use force to defend her, even if it means fighting other people.
Kazuki might seem a bit tough, but he’s actually very clever. When navigating the Labyrinth, he’s able to consider many different strategies.

Sena Nakiri
Voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro, 18 years old, wields Mace & Shield-type equipment
The younger twin sister of Kazuki, Sena is a good-mannered senior with an overwhelming girl power.
She often tries to be a supportive older sister to Rei, but she jumps to incorrect assumptions about love and frequently creates problems for herself as a result.
Okay, so there’s this girl, Sena, and something happened back in middle school that really messed with her ability to trust people and get close to them. Plus, she and this guy, Kazuki, have this complicated history – some unresolved stuff that keeps coming up as they go through school together. It’s like there’s tension and baggage between them, and I’m really curious to find out what happened!

Rurui
Voiced by Aoi Koga
Rei will encounter a strange girl within the Labyrinth. She appears to be about ten years old, but her true age is a mystery. She’s known for her awkward way of speaking and an unusual, noticeable presence.
She shows up and vanishes without warning, occasionally popping up at Rei’s place or joining the group as they explore the Labyrinth.
Rurui is completely out of touch with what most people think, making her thoughts unpredictable. However, she’s a remarkably enthusiastic eater and will try just about anything.

Masayuki Rikudo
Voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi, 18 years old, wields Odachi-type equipment
Okay, so at Hirasaka Academy, this guy is basically a big deal. He’s the student council president and everyone listens to him. Plus, he leads Eleven O’Clock, which is the strongest team at school – they’re number one for a reason!
He holds himself and others to very high standards, and his imposing presence often makes people feel compelled to comply with his expectations.
Everyone seems to think Masayuki is a really skilled leader – seriously, people look up to him. But it’s weird, because he’s super cold and harsh with his sister, Fuka. It just doesn’t add up, you know?

Shu Kadenokoji
Voiced by Kazuki Ura, 18 years old, wields Folding Fan & Amulet-type equipment
He’s the second-in-command of the Eleven O’Clock team, and he’s famous for being both funny and speaking with a refined accent from Kyoto.
He’s part of a family with a long history of leading the Onmyo Bureau, a Japanese government organization that handles supernatural matters. Sometimes, he represents the Bureau at the academy.
Despite being very different personalities, Shu and his childhood friend Masayuki often find themselves acting the same way. Shu has also known Fuka since they were little.

Lady Toushu
Voiced by Megumi Toyoguchi, 40 years old
She’s the masked headmaster of Hirasaka Academy, a woman shrouded in mystery.
She invites a diverse group of people – including those connected to powerful organizations and qualified individuals like Rei – to compete in the Great Hirasaka Labyrinth. But rather than guiding them, she observes their progress, seemingly amused by the different approaches they take.

LinoN
Voiced by Hina Aoki
Rei is a big fan of a globally popular virtual singer known for her incredible voice.
She performs songs using a beautifully created virtual character. However, about a year ago, she unexpectedly stopped releasing music, leading to a lot of rumors and guesses about what happened.
