xQc gets unexpected shout out from CBS news anchor during live police chase

Popular streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel was surprised when a news anchor mentioned him live on TV during coverage of a police chase.

Streamers and viewers are often drawn to police chase broadcasts, both live and recorded. Dedicated Twitch accounts have sprung up to immediately share these chases as they happen, and social media is frequently used to announce when a new pursuit is underway.

xQc, a popular streamer from Canada, has been watching chases for a long time, and his audience really enjoys it. They often encourage him to watch from the beginning and send him clips of exciting or chaotic moments.

It’s kinda funny, my name has actually shown up on TV a few times now, but I’m always totally shocked when it happens! I never expect it.

xQc responds to shoutout from news anchor

On February 18th, Lengyel was surprised to hear his name mentioned during a police chase broadcast on CBS News Los Angeles.

The presenter mentioned that a Twitch streamer named xQc was currently broadcasting their feed, and many of his viewers had sent in questions about the chase.

The ex-Overwatch pro immediately started laughing when someone said his name, yelling, “What? That’s wild! We actually did it, chat!”

xQc complimented the reporter’s response after they correctly pointed out that shooting the car’s tires would be risky—something xQc had been proposing.

You know, it’s amazing how well this AI can respond, but I realized something. I think I was relying on it too much by asking it to prompt questions for others. It feels a bit like I was giving it too much control, and honestly, it’s better if I just come up with my own questions next time. It’s just a more responsible way to use this incredible tool.

The streamer watched the chase for a bit, then switched off the video and started reacting to other content.
