Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Novels Will Keep You Busy Until The Netflix Series

As a huge Splinter Cell fan, I’m so excited it’s finally coming back! We’ve been waiting ages for something new, and now Sam Fisher is sneaking onto Netflix in a new animated series starting October 14th. Even better, Liev Schreiber is voicing Sam – he’s perfect for the role! If you’re like me and have played all the games, you might also enjoy checking out the original Tom Clancy Splinter Cell novels that everything is based on. And good news – a lot of them are on sale at Amazon right now, so it’s a great time to get into the books and experience the full story!

Okay, so I found out something kinda surprising about the Splinter Cell novels. Turns out Tom Clancy didn’t actually *write* them himself. It’s like with a lot of stuff that has his name on it now – other authors, like David Michaels and Peter Telep, are the ones doing the writing. They try to keep the style similar to how Clancy used to write, but it’s not actually him penning these stories.

If you’re new to the series, the best place to start is with the first book, *Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell*, currently available for $8.94 (originally $10). It introduces the core team, including Sam Fisher and the Third Echelon, and sets the stage for the thrilling espionage seen in the *Splinter Cell* video games, complete with Fisher’s signature dark humor. The series currently includes nine novels in total. While *Splinter Cell: Operation Barracuda* is the second book, the third (*Splinter Cell: Checkmate*) and fourth (*Splinter Cell: Fallout*) books introduce entirely new storylines.

The Splinter Cell novels start with mostly new stories that only briefly reference the games. However, later books directly connect to, or even retell, events from games like Splinter Cell: Conviction and Splinter Cell: Endgame-the latter actually serving as the story basis for the Splinter Cell: Conviction game. The book Splinter Cell: Blacklist Aftermath picks up where the game Splinter Cell: Blacklist left off, making it ideal for fans hoping for a continuation of the series. It’s the most expensive physical edition at $25.86, but the Kindle version is available for just $7.

Good news for fans: the Splinter Cell story continues in a series of new novels! Released in 2022, *Splinter Cell: Firewall* and its sequel, *Splinter Cell: Dragonfire*, feature Sam Fisher training his daughter, Sarah, to become a skilled spy. Together, they face exciting new dangers. Both books are available exclusively as Kindle ebooks on Amazon, and the entire series is also available digitally for Kindle readers.
